Recently stopped claiming Incapacity Benefit - Tax Rebate?

I recently stopped receiving Incapacity Benefit after being claiming it for eight years due to depression and anxiety.
It was National Insurance based IB as I had worked for four years before becoming ill and believe that this benefit is taxable. Would I be entitled to a tax rebate for the past tax year(s) and how would I go about applying for it?
Thanks in advance.

Not unless you actually paid tax no. Your taxable income has to be over the personal allowance and you have to be liable to pay the tax. And anyway you can only go back 4 years so you've missed the boat.0

How do I know if I paid any tax? I have my P45 and on that it says my tax code at leaving date is 810L and I have been paid £5870. Does this mean I haven't paid any?0

that neabs your income could be £8 195 before you pay tax. as your income was under £3k then you have paid no tax and so wont be owed any rebate0

You can't have a tax rebate if you haven't paid any tax.
If you have been living solely on benefits then you won't have paid any income tax.0 -

To be certain the forms arrive its better to send them by motorcycle courier and get the courier to wait while the refund is processed.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -

Sorry but that is wrong.
Depends on the amount of benefit.
I paid NI got a tax rebate when i was appealing the Atos test, due to the income being lower, i guess i'll be paying it back though after winning my esa appeal.0
