HELP: Booking with Expedia - They've made a mistake and 'I'm liable'
Comments
-
It's standard US practice- The room rate quoted is for two person occupancy (regardless of the number of beds or type of beds in the room).
Most hotels don't charge an extra person charge if the 3rd or 4th person is a child but do charge if it is an adult.
Sometimes it can work out more expensive to have four adults in one room than having two rooms.
(Never actually paid over occupancy -I've always booked for 2 people and made sure I tipped the chambermaids daily so they didn't say anything- obviously you make do with two room keys to not draw attention to what you are doing)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I hope, but have some serious doubts, that Expedia sort this out for you but my experience of their Indian call centre was that they had neither the power nor the interest in resolving complaints. As others have said, it does cost more for 3 or 4 in the room, I suspect all they have done with the 'upgrade' is to put you in a larger room but still based on 2 sharing. How much was the upgrade, tens or hundreds of dollars, it makes a difference?0
