    Personally I would be worried if this is the way forward.

    There is nothing better than having a printed copy of a letter, beit through the post or via email to have the proof for the future.

    How would you argue that you received a text if it was deleted by you?

    Definitely going down the wrong road. I like everything in writing as I don't trust the DWP or any government department.

    They aren't texting everything, official letters requesting you attend for interview etc will still be made in writing. The texts are to confirm receipt of something or as a reminder to attend something.

    The receipt of an important document must and should be put in writing and not by text.

    Where's your proof that they received it if you deleted the text?

    The way to avoid the DWP sending texts to you is to simply not give them your mobile number.

    Agreed... I have heard of stories whereby the DWP or ATOS have attempted calling claimants to catch them on the 'hop', to the detriment to the claimant.
