What's my chares I need to pay for my holiday soon, and was hoping to pay by credit card to get some tesco reward points, I've worked out my fee would be £70 but I would get £28 points in tesco points ..
If I 4x them I roughly £100 worth of deals restaurants etc...
But I was trying to see if anyone has got there fees reduced ???
You could always try it and come back in a few months time and report on your success or otherwise0 -

They can afford to though, they are generally pretty expensive in my experience.0 -

Normally book each year through Travelrepublic who do charge, but we never have had any issues, so that's why we still book about £2k + worth with them each year.
Might take a look at Trailfinders and see if the prices compare and try to save on the fees next time. :money:0 -
I'm sure Tesco only asked for the ticketed price for the bananas and didn't add a charge, so not really the same is it, the op was not buying a 2.5% credit card charge
Last time i bought bananas there the assistant when she knew i was paying by C.C. came over and leaned on the scales.

Probably true for short haul, but from my experience, our long haul prices have been very competitive with Trailfinders. We have used them for New Zealand, Hong Kong, Maui and our holiday this year to Thailand.
When we booked a couple of months ago, both Virgin and Thomas Cook we're more expensive for the same flights and lower standard hotels.0 -
I am happy to pay too, just wondered why it was so high, thought it was worth mentioning in a post, but I guess not.
As for the bananas I think it was sarcasm but there you go.
I thought I had a valid post but I guess not I wont post any more.
Thank you to those of you who took me seriously and gave me some useful informatoin its very much appreated.
I think you had a point, based on the fact that no other business seems to charge.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
For those who have American Express cards, you can book through their travel agency at americanexpress.co.uk/travel and obviously they charge no fee :P They normally have pretty good rates on hotels and flights (Especially outside of Europe).0

Don't get me wrong they are good on knowledge and staff but just not cheap. Have only used them once in the last few yards and that was hiring a car for South Africa, though we'd booked the flights elsewhere. We booked as their offering was more straightforward, though I think we got the advisor into trouble as he agreed the booking without a package and then couldn't back out when we told him we had flight and accommodation elsewhere.
Presume your talking about packages whereas we tend to DIY for flexibility as much as cost.0 -
