no I've offered 25% in the hope we can come to an agreement between 25% to 50%. I can't afford anymore than that. Go on to the national debt helpline website I used the template letter of there. Sorry I dont have a copy on my home computer that I could send you. Who are your creditors? Please keep in touch let us know how you get on.0

sorry I'm bumping this up the tree again. Still no letters from creditors argh!!!0

Give them time.
Most creditors take at least a fortnight I've found to send anything. Even if they just say thnaks we've received your letter and have passed it on etc etc etc.
Have you phoned any of them to chase up the letters?
Whats ur debt with HBOS for?
Have you search the forum for any mentions of them. It might be contained within another thread somewhere, the advice you're looking for.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Thanks - creditors are Lloyds(argh!), MBNA and Virgin. Sending holding letters out today then final settlement offers next week. Keeping my fingers crossed. Its good to hear other people are managing to battle through and get somewhere - also nice to know you're not the only one in a pickle.0

I have a transfer balance for life at 2.9 percent and still owe £2,300. I take it not many people pay the full amount back but offer a percentage instead.
I will contact Barclaycard and put it to them and say I am borrowing from friends and colleagues and see if that works. I really was under the impression if you borrowed it had to be paid back in full. Obviously not the case.0 -
Hi,
Can anybody help please. I've got a debt of 263.00 with argos card services and £1.00 a month token payment but twice that they wrote to me they added 35 added interest charge for 2 letters so it become 298.00 pounds I want to make an offer to pay it off but I know how much I should offer as I'm not working at the moment because they kept passing it to different collection agency but continue paying the token payment direct to argos. What shall I do?0 -

hey helenm1105
I've sent an offer to MDNA, I know they've my letter but not heard anything back yet. Keep in touch let me know how you get on I'll do the same. Totally good to know other people out there understand the situation we are in. Just wish I could tell my family and boyfriend but it would start WW3 hopefully after I get all letters back from creditors I can maybe sit down and tell them. I hate the lies. speak soon.0 -
My OH found out after opening post addressed to me, made me sit down and tell my parents and I really thought the roof had fallen off my world. However they have been totally amazing, very supportive, just hope everything settles between me and OH as things there are unbeiliebly rocky. The lies were awful and though it was totally **** admitting to it all I do actually feel better now. Feel like I've let them down but better in myself for not having to lie any more - will let you know how I get on and you do the same. Hope it all goes OK for you. Give me a shout if you need to let off steam.0
