in Credit cards
To cut a very long story short, Ive been with santander for around 3 years. I recently closed a credit card and well amongst other issues santander didnt close it and so racked up over 5 months of missed payments on my credit file, its taken me 3 months to get this looked at and fixed. In Santanders resolution letter in January follwoing a phone call they promised (amongst other things) to remove all the balck marks on my credit file due to this error. When i checked last month (march) they were still there. Its taken me another couple of weeks, several emails and calls to finally get this record corrected. So in throry im now being told that in 15 dys my record will be updated.
I guess my question is, what sort of compensation should i be seaking from this, i recieved £200 for all the other issues but this is another thats caused me massive problems, not being able to remortgage, get a new credit card for ballance transfers. My overall experience with santander has been shocking to say the least but when they promise to do something and dont and leave me to chase them again i simply lose the will to live.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Have you actually applied for and been rejected for anything and can definitively prove its due to the marks from Santander?
The FOS are not generous when it comes to compensation as you will see from:

By the looks of it, your total compensation would probably fall into the £100 category but given you've already had £200 then you'll most likely get a token or just an apology letter0 -
OP if you did not owe anything on the card then no repayments would be required.
I wonder if you have been caught out by trailing interest?
Was the card statement nil for 2 months prior to closure?0
