Halifax Current Account

Hi, I have recently opened a Halifax Current Account (not with rewards). Today I received a welcome pack with a/c details and a Signature Mandate but I was wondering if anyone knows if this account come with a Contactless Card and a Cheque Book as standard as there seems to be no mention of either in the pack. I'm not too bothered about a Cheque Book but Contactless would be a good feature to have.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

Halifax accounts don't come with a contactless card as standard, but once you have the account set up, give customer services a call and ask for one. You may need to persist a little, as when I rang they weren't sure that they were available (this is probably a couple of years ago now though, so they may be more familiar now). They are definitely available though - I have one, so if they do say no, keep calling back until you get somebody who knows how!0

Nope it doesn't come with a cheque book or contactless card as standard.
These will be based on your credit report and if the bank trust you enough to issue you with the contactless card and cheque book.
My replacement card came with the contactless facility.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

Thanks for the advice. I guess i'll wait and see what arrives, i'm also getting a Clarity Credit Card. I have been with Lloyds TSB for many years and have a Contactless Visa Debit Card with them (in all honesty I have barely ever used the facility but thought it might be useful as more retailers adopt the technology) but I decided to switch to Halifax as they have a better branch service nearer to where I live.
The only mistake I have made is I should have really applied for the Reward Account, I thought it had a monthly fee but now I know it dosen't, doh!0 -

My cards have now arrived. The Debit Card isn't Contactless but the Clarity Card is.
I can live without Contactless Debit but can I assume the Debit Card is one of those 'authorise everything' types that can't even be used at Petrol Pumps? I do hope not, I may as well stick with Lloyds if that is the case.0 -
This is my Halifax Card, I though they were all contactless now ?.0 -

Clearly not, the previous poster says only people they trust enough get contactless ones so they obviously don't trust me enough!
But if it's a card that cant even be used at Petrol Pumps it isn't any use to me really. Seems odd they have issued me with a contactless Credit Card though?0 -

When I opened my Halifax Account last year I got a Cheque Book Debit Card and Clarity card, the Clarity Card (Mastercard) was contactless, but the Debit card was not !. So I phoned them and was told that contactless is only issued in certain trial areas, but if I wanted one I could be sent one, I said yes I do and it came in a few days. So just phone them and ask for one.
My card (Before changing it to contactless) could be used a pay at pump, trains etc so don't worry about that.0
