Sucess on flight delay compensation claim for a package holiday

I am grateful for the advice from Martin and team on flight compensation. I followed the instructions, unsure if my claim would be successful as the flight was part of a package holiday. We booked with American Airlines (AA) from Manchester to Chicago to fly on 20/04/2011 then pick up a tour down to New Orleans. The flight was cancelled resulting in a flight to Heathrow, then another to Chicago. This made our arrival in Chicago nearly 9 hours late. The scheduled flight length was 6130 kms, so I claimed compensation of £480 each. I included details of how this affected our trip in the letter. When I looked at AA web site to find the address it clearly stated claims re package holidays should be sent to the tour operater. So I sent my intial e-mail to Cosmos. They referred me to AA. AA responded quickly with an apology and Transportation voucher exchange coupons for $1200.00. each, valid for one year. A fantastic result.

Good for you. Personally, I'd have asked for the cash ...0
