Ryanair panic attacks

Usual thing on-time departure and early arrival for me, no hassle although with their no nonsense day before e-mail reminders about the maximum size/weight of cabin bags I thought this might limit the 'airport entertainment'.
However, I am pleased to say that even with this extra brutal reminder stupid people still try to take on big suitcases as cabin baggage so all is not lost.
PS. does anyone have a Youtube link or alike for the fanfare?
Completely different coming back, there they were interested in size not weight!
Most disappointing, however the lack of the fanfare made up for it0 -

A top travel tip for flying Ryanair is to listen to your iPod for the entire journey. It is the best way to block out the constant stream of announcements about smokeless fags, scratch cards etc. Sadly, there is no escaping the fan fare because you have to turn off electronic devices for landing. But at least we no longer have to sit through the Ryanair song. I remember one flight where the crew were pleading with passengers to write letters of complaint to bring the song torture to a halt.0 -
I wonder how many flights would be on time if they had a normal flight time ,not the very large window they give there selves to get there, I bet it would cut down on the fanfares0

What are you talking about? Their listed flying times are virtually identical to that of their competitors.0 -
If you fly Bristol to Majorca they have a flight time of 2h 25m, the actual flight time is 2h/2h5m, around 20% leeway0

And every other airline. I checked Ryanair's listed flight times on a handful of routes and they're virtually identical to those of easyJet and Jet2 with most being the same and a few being 5 minutes shorter or 5 minutes longer. Listed flight times aren't just the time in the air anyway, it's meant to reflect time on the ground before actual take-off as well.0 -
I am not saying they are any differant from any other airline, but give there selves a big window and then have a fan fare that they are early0

Timetabled times are based on the worst case scenario and take into account route, headwinds, fuel consumption, aircraft load, airport delays to name a few.
Flight crew will aim to improve on these times where possible so all can end up early.
though at some destinations an early arrival is of no benefit as gates, aircraft handling and luggage handling may not be available until the scheduled time0
