Cheapest broadband internet access for use at more than one property.

I would like to upgrade to broadband but have n't done so yet as I can set two CLI numbers with Tesco.net so I can use it in my second home as well as my main home.
In the near future I will be buying run down properties to develop and would also like to be able to access the internet via broadband from these properties when I am there project managing.
Is there an economical way of achieving this?
If not, what is my best dial up options?
(I have to say that I spend many hours per day on line and I've never had any problems whatsoever with tesco.net but you can only have two CLI's at any one time).
Thanks :-)

Each ADSL account is tied to a phone line, it's not like dial-up. Some ISPs offer broadband access from multiple locations but it's a service intended for businesses so I'm pretty sure it's not cheap at all.
Plusnet says:
Anytime and Connect account customers can connect from up to 5 designated BT telephone numbers.
I'd raise a ticket on their portal and ask them if they could allow you to designate 5 CLI's on your PAYG account. Worth a try!
I'm not sure how Plusnet's Anytime packages compare to Tesco.net ones price wise but the 5 CLI's on Plusnet Anytime accounts seem like a good solution for your needs. For the short-term at least, until you start project managing properties right, left and centre.
You may wanna get in touch with Demon too. They used to offer dial-up packages with no CLI limitations but I can't work out from their website if that's still the case.The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -

I thought as much about ADSL but it was nice to have it confirmed, thanks OC.
Plusnets' anytime package is slightly more expensive than Tesco.net at £14.99, IIRC CLI's are only relevant to unmetered access to reduce the risk of abuse i.e multiple people on one suscription. It's unimportant with PAYG as it's an 0845 low call number where the the call charges are billed to the owner of the telephone line and the ISP takes a cut.
So unless someone else can come up with something else it looks like I'm stuck with dial up for awhile longer.
Will take a look/call demon and see what they have to offer but may be reluctant to move from Tesco because of their reliability.{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}

Oops, my bad. I incorrectly assumed Plusnet's dial-up PAYG was a subscription account (not the 0845 dial-up type) just like Plusnet's broadband PAYG account. I was with Plusnet for 2 years but, as you can tell, I never used their dial-up service
Demon have faded into obscurity in the last few years, just as the broadband revolution started but they were a highly rated ISP in the dial-up days. They were the Entanets and Zens of dial-up so I'd expect Demon dial-up to have good reliability.The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -
What about using mobile eg web n Walk or a Blackberry or a WIFI connection with a laptop?0

What about using mobile eg web n Walk or a Blackberry or a WIFI connection with a laptop?
Never heard of "web n walk" or "Blackberry" can you summarise the details and costs associated with these please?
WIFI connection still needs one broadband connection per telephone line = one per property unless I restrict myself to buying properties in close proximity to a mainline train station or Star Bucks etc. :-){Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}

I haven't time to look for them now but if you set up an account with 1899 and/or 18185 and put the telephone numbers of each property onto the account you can then find an ISP with a geographical number and use dial up for the connection charge of the phone call.0

That's a good idea EL but surely ISP's are aware of this trick and only supply their own 0845, 0844 numbers etc.?{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}
