I heard this ad on the radio but I didnt quite get the name of the company. I think it sends the texts through some sort of network connection, can anyone shed some light on this?

    https://www.smsbug.com
    or
    https://www.vyke.com

there are a number of others

They require you to download a java program to your phone. You then send text via mobile internet which usually costs 1pence (+ the cost of vyke or smsbug which is 1pence or 2pence respectively)

You can also send from your computer and thus avoid the mobile internet cost

Thanks mate I have a nokia n95 and have free internet through wifi so ill be fine. Do the texts you send from this go on your sent items or is it just on the application? When you send the text, would it send from your number? Would the people receiving know its from my number?

    Thanks

The texts you send do not appear in your usual 'sent texts' folder.
When the person gets the text, it appears as if you sent it direct from your phone, they can reply as usual

I used to use smsbug.com but had problems registering when i changed networks to o2. have used https://www.vyke.com since without any problems. Which network are you on? not sure if these services work with the '3' network
