AA - and their sneaky tactics

Not defending the AA's actions in any way, but it's the person who is the member of the AA, not the car..."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Not always the case. I only ever took " vehicle" cover when i was with the AA or RAC etc. It covered my car no matter who was driving. But did not cover me in other cars.
In theory they would call me a member, yes. But if i changed car, i had to ring and tell them or no cover was provided.0 -
Mine is by DD too.0

Thanks for the heads up. Good warning post for many I suspect! What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0

Had my AA renewal last week, nearly £180 pounds, when last year got full cover for £35 using cash back sites.
Phoned to cancel as we have a new car that includes breakdown cover.
They did suggest that maybe I would like to suspend my membership as I would keep all my continuation of membership benefits (?).
Had to be quite emphatic that I wanted to cancel completely.
I have kept a note of the phone call and will be watching to see if anything is taken from my account. I will now set up a reminder to keep an eye out next year and subsequent years!0 -
Would have been funny to mention this thread and say "what suspend it so you can reinstate it in 3 years time and take money from my account. And all without informing me? No thanks".Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Wonder if the operatives are 'incentivised' to get people to say it is suspended rather than cancelled?
If so, I could see quite a few people getting this letter in three years time.
Anything that pays a rep to be sneaky is bad news for the customer. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

'Three years is a long time ago', well I remember it like it was yesterday as I bought a new car, cash, and scrapped the old one. Hence knowing that I wouldn't be needing AA cover full stop. Obviously the script infers its the customer's memory playing them up, as three years is a long time, eh?
Tell the supervisor that he's a blatant liar.0
