I dont want to travel to the new location! Iv been with the company 2 years this september. Apparently they asked everyone (in the office) if they would/wouldnt mind relocating. I dont know what was offered if you didnt want to relocate. Can i not be made redundant?

    Do you mean sept 2013

    They could make you redundant

If the above that would be no statutory redundancy payout

What benifit do you get by being made redundant other than maybe some notice pay?

I suggest you get in touch with them urgently and see what they say. If they expect you to return to work at the new address, then there's a conversation to be had. Without knowing the details of your old journey and your new journey, no one can say whether the move is reasonable or not - even with this info we can only speculate as it would ultimately be for a tribunal to decide. There is no set time limit or distance; it very much depends on the circumstances.

To be fair, they have possibly done you a favour - if they had discussed this with you months ago, they could have ended your employment back then. As it is, you have now accrued holiday pay for your whole mat. leave. I know several companies who have left a woman on mat. leave out of such decisions as things may change before they return to work. As getmoreforless suggests, you may well be redundant but you are not entitled to statutory redundancy pay so unless your company has a more generous policy, you will only get notice pay and any accrued holiday.

You would need two years continuous service to get any redundancy pay. So if they made you redundant before then, you don't have enough service.

Because you have to have been employed for 2 years
Opinion, advice and information are different things. Don't be surprised if you receive all 3 in response. :D

You are only eligible for Statutory Redundancy Pay if you have been working somewhere for at least two years.

Even if you had been there 2 years, redundancy would only be a couple of weeks wages.
