    Hi,
I'm still really new to the Tesco's thing & this site so please be gentle.:o In fact this is the first website I have joined.:shhh: So still getting used to the abbreviations .

I have read the start of this thread, wow :T thank you. I hope you don't mind, but I would be grateful for some wisdom from some wise Tesco voucher old hands, so to speak.

I've already received some vouchers through the post (like a waderobe) £26. Can I use these at the same time?

Not being greedy, but can I request more for the same postal address?

Also can some kind person explain in dumb terms the difference in the Blues, Quits & yellows? Is this the difference between Clothes, H&B & Grocery Vouchers? And where do you get them from?

Someone please enlighten me as I'm feeling a little stupid, no make that total stupid. I will leave you all in peace then promise. ;)

    Thanks

    Fran

Hi Fran.. Whoops!! hit the thanks again but have it as a welcome to the site & don't go.. If we all knew everything it would be a pretty dull world..

I should really update the first post of the thread...

Simple terms... Blue coupons were for clothing & expired Sunday..

Tesco used to produce clothes coupons & were handed out instore, found on clothing & jewellery counters.. These are the yellows talked about on the first page... These could be combined with other clothes coupons with different barcodes spending the required amount... Unfortunately these instore coupons are pretty much dead...

Quit coupons stands for quit smoking.. an envelope packed with coupons & contained a £6.00 off clothing back at Christmas.. no longer valid... New quit packs with different coupons in for h&b were produced after these & found at pharmacy counter, garage, cigarette kiosk... You may be lucky still to find these but they shouldn't be on display anymore...

You can request 1 set of clothing coupons per email address...

H&B shopping is very much alive at the moment & more scope for couponing so do pop over there.. Any questions there's always loads of friendly members to help you out..

  • Thanks kronen and poundsinbucks, for your help. :T

I will be spending lots more time reading both forums to try to get grips with it all.

    I do have one more question though :o ;

Is it possible to use the coupons via the self-serv checkouts, or do you have to go through a SA checkout?

Thanks so much for all the help, I hope I can provide some useful information for you in the future.

    Hi
You can use coupons etc in self scan but they are programmed to only take a percentage off (may be 10%) then the screen says you have to get assistant to check. They may or may not overide to allow more discount.
If you have lots of vouchers it is probably better to look for a "willing SA" - look for young lads - they will often accept more coupons & if you find one who accepts try to go back to him/her in the future
  • I got some of the wardrobe vouchers this week...and i have a set of the 6 electrical and clothing ones anyone tell me what the best combination is...do i need to buy only clothes or can i buy xmas toys for my grandson??

most of the stores that i use, the self scanners are set to ask for authorisation after 30% ,or the 3rd voucher

Both wardrobe & £6.00 electrical/clothes scan on anything as long as you reach the spend total...

    £30 spend use.. 2 x £6.00 wardrobes, 1 x £4.00 kids 1 x £6.00 elec, 1 x £6.00 blue clothes = £2.00 to pay...

    £50 spend Use all set of wardrobe = £26.00, both blues = £12..00 = £38.00 off... £12.00 to pay...

A shame as if you had another sheet of electric clothing you could do a £60 spend use all wardrobe is £26.00, 2 of each blues is £24.00 = £50 off.... £10 to pay...

Easy to make up the difference with h&b profits...

Hope that makes sense.. Probably dosen't as I'm a little under the weather ... However I still went couponing today, but didn't achieve as much as I was hoping for.. but my favourite cashier seemed happy for me & I can't wait for the next trip IN...

EDIT... Following receiving my first set of wardrobe coupons after chasing them up via email (Thanks Bassman ) I've only just realised that the 2 £6.00's have the same barcode so doubtful that 2 would work on my £50 & £30 combo... Not that it matters at the moment until there's more to combine with..

Thanks for explaining that (I was looking out for the answer also). I was just wondering if anyone would actually do those combinations (except leadhead as he's got nerves of steel). I get so nervous just doing a £10 H&B shop that puts me ever so slightly in credit!!!!:rotfl:
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)

Loads of members do it... I've been doing an amazing combo with guys I know but best not to post on an open forum... 6/8 coupons above is really a drop in the ocean to what most use...

Just get to know your cashiers & then you're away....

Yes LH.. CK.. has courage & loads of balls... inspired me greatly...
  • I get reallly nervous about coupon usage - i always make sure that i have enough in my purse to cover the shop just in case the coupons don't work, however this forum has made me unashamed to try. Managed to use DM coupon the other day for the first time which made me think about the clothing ones - so thanks for this forum, i now have the answers. Looking forward to trying it.
