After having these "blues" for quite a while now, and nothing to go with them to bring the price down, decided after getting some £4 kids(which i never use) to go for it today....

Had two combos worked out with Plax(to cover missing £12 on £60 clothes).

Anyway...picked up 14 Plax and £60 of kids clothes(and £5 extra just in case of a reduction)....got to till with these..sure enough there was an unmarked reduction, so had to use a reserve piece of clothing and took clothing total to £61.25(all kids).....£10 blue scanned first ok, then 2x £6's scanned......but one womens and one mens wouldn't scan.......he scanned all my other coupons including 3x £4 kids, 4 each SB's and HB £2.50's and 14x £1 plax...... I asked him to try and scan £6's again(after realising i didn't have £13.27 in my pocket to pay bill)....they wouldn't scan.....apologised and said i had left my money in the car..........anyway after being unable to find OH who had cash...suddenly realised i had not given him any £1 toiletry or £1.25 quits.....so made my way back to him, where supervisor was about to put transaction on hold(as there was quite a queue by this time)....I apologised to the queue and the supervisor(who luckily walked away).....I then gave him, 5 x £1.25 quits and 7 x £1 toiletry coupons.....thankyou he said....that will be 2p then sir.

40 coupons on one receipt........its a long time since Ive done that.....could have been more if I'd been a points collector.

Took goods to car....came back, did exact same clothing transaction with Plax again.(without the hassle this time though)...and paid another 2p.

Why wouldn't the 2nd £6 mens and £6 womens scan on these clothes...i had definately spent £61.25 on clothes......

Also had a very successful HandB day in some smaller stores.

I'm soooooooo envious - my local stores are sticking to their "only one of each policy" - I normally manage to sweet talk a couple of extra's now that I am braver - even my best SA gets the jitters if the bill drops below £10!!

    :)

Have had a fab day myself with the last of the blues........I can only hope now, before some new coupons appear, that Mr T gets a bit of variety in his clothing range.:D

Is it me, or has some of the stuff been around since the spring?

Still....can't grumble........kids are all kitted out for winter and, dare i say, i bought something for myself today:eek:

I don't do clothes shops in Tesco, I am more of a H&B user but I received one of the wardrobe type coupon sets and as I already had the old blues, thought I would have a go at combining.

We actually needed some boots for winter so we ended up with 4 pairs of boots at £10 each :D 1 pair of the most fabulous slippers (white and fluffy slipper socks at £8) and a mens jumper at a reduced price of £12.

This was in a Tesco where they are becoming wise to me and I was so unbelievably lucky to get away with it.

Total with a few groceries came to £64, I found a sweet looking boy in a white shirt which I assume means they are quite new ;)

Chatted away to him as you do and he explained he had just started that day :j , never blinked when I passed him £60 worth of clothes coupons and the bill came to £4 odd. I was tempted to pass him some moc's also but thought I might be pushing it too far and was just so happy to get everything for nothing.

The very next day I went back there, the supervisor came runnig up to the till squawking about "its only 10% allowed here and you can't use lots of coupons etc etc", I think I was extremely lucky to get away with £60 worth of clothes for nothing the previous day.

i had the very same problem, i had spent over £60 on kids stuff but the £10 didnt scan, which was on top of the pile, and neither did the second set of £6, cant grumble though as i got £60 of clothes and £20 of plax etc for £22

I had a continuing problem last week that only 3 x £6.00's would go through & one shop a £10 at the top wouldn't go through.. my lad put them through as non scan coupons... Quite glad to have a break from clothes for a while... or at least until the clothes coupons come down in price on Ebay..

Patty.. The clothing range dosent seem to change a lot & also find a lot more variety in the 6-10 yr girl range rather than teenage stuff.. Having said that I thought my store was large but went to one with the Direct catalogue facility & it was huge & a much wider range of clothes.

Ragtimeplayer.. Well done... absolutely great when success happens.. Not totally devastating when it dosen't as taking clothes back with the odd coupon on, is easy.. I've also been hit with the 10% off policy before but as I've said £10 off £50.00 is 20%.. £2.50 off £10 h&b is 25%.. But never brought this to their attention as want to go unrecognised at making a fuss.....

Leadhead.. Well done.. I was going to coupon clothes in the same transaction as h&b to make the difference up.. but as most will be returned I didn't want a hefty long receipt... We'd make a good pair.. I left my SB's in the car yesterday that some lovely member had sent me.. Ended up paying £9.xx for a £50.00 combo & £10.00 top up so not best pleased with my organisation...

Had a really nice day couponing with my lovely guy today.. h&b & general stuff.. He really dosen't mind me going back for more so I do & it's such a good feeling...

Good luck to all those that are still at it with the wardrobe coupons.. & lets hope for some instore coupons before Christmas...

I went to Tesco today to try and use my last three blue clothing vouchers.
Could find nothing in my size I liked and was in hurry so I gave all three away to different people shopping in clothes section. They were all thrilled and someone even offered to pay me half the face value and go fifty/fifty. I declined as I have done quite a few good shops recently using tips from everyone on MSE so was glad for them to go to good home.

I never come away empty handed...the best way is to buy anything...then just take it back without the receipt to swap for something you may like later. You have to be aware though that your original articles may get reduced, so try and pick stuff that is "new in"......so lessening the risk of reductions.............this is why some of us (who may not have kids)have been buying kids stuff.....to be able to use an added 3 x£4 kids coupons....so taking another £12 off a £60 spend, and then returning the goods for an adult exchange..................
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

I think that's great Shelberg.
I believe what goes around comes around. Feels good too. I have given away H&B coupons to people instore before if i think i can't use them. Have never come across any other coupons, but am grateful for what i have been able to get discounted or free. :T :T

does anyone know if the Sept blue tokens are still scanning?
  • Hi,
I'm still really new to the Tesco's thing & this site so please be gentle.:o In fact this is the first website I have joined.:shhh: So still getting used to the abbreviations .

I have read the start of this thread, wow :T thank you. I hope you don't mind, but I would be grateful for some wisdom from some wise Tesco voucher old hands, so to speak.

I've already received some vouchers through the post (like a waderobe) £26. Can I use these at the same time?

Not being greedy, but can I request more for the same postal address?

Also can some kind person explain in dumb terms the difference in the Blues, Quits & yellows? Is this the difference between Clothes, H&B & Grocery Vouchers? And where do you get them from?

Someone please enlighten me as I'm feeling a little stupid, no make that total stupid. I will leave you all in peace then promise. ;)

    Thanks

    Fran

Hi Fran and welcome to MSE. If you read the very first post of this thread (the clothing one) and also the beginning of the Tesco H&B thread, a lot will become clear :D .

There is lots of info out there and you will find most of your questions answered.

You're lucky to have the wardrobe vouchers. They are meant for clothing but scan without buying clothes, you just need to spend the appropriate sum on the voucher. So if you buy £50 worth of shopping and you find a willing SA, they might scan them all.

    HTH.
