Investment fund split with £3k lump sum.

Hi, looking to invest in my first S&SISA.

I've got ten or so funds short listed atm.

I'm just trying to decide what ratio to split the tracker funds with low TER to the higher actively managed funds with the 4/5% initial fee and 1.5% AMC.

As you can see I only have £3k at mo but will be setting a reg investment up thru TD investing.

I'm looking for growth rather than income. Just want to try beat the high street rates.

Thanks for any help.

Thank you, I guess there is no correct answer its upto the individual.

You just read all the stuff about "spreading" and "not putting all the eggs in one basket" so just looking for an actual definition of you like of what that might be.

    Hi

Well I think the spreading bit is right so get someone to do it for you like Vanguard as Latecomers link shows. It's a good thread with links to associated reading if you need more.

I am certainly thinking about it.

    Cheers

You shouldn't be paying any lump sums for 4/5%.

Go to a fund supermarket like HL, Cavendish etc and you'll be able to get them all at 0% initial charge which will give an immediate boost to your investment to start with.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

I've signed up with TD, just done a trial run of buying IP High Income acc fund, they discount the 5% which is great!
