NPower website won't accept reading
Options
I had a telephone message from Lowri Beck who do the meter readings for NPower. I made a reading and try to submit it online but the website does not work. I go to the My Npower section and enter my gas and two electric rate readings, but it re-directs to the same page. Next to the two electric meter readings (which are less than the estimated reading) it says "Meter reading is plausible" in red and next to that a drop down with the options:-
* Accept Meter Reading without Check
* Change in personal circumstances
* Energy saving improvements
* Property reonovations
* Property unoccupied.
SInce there has been no change I select "Accept Meter Reading without Check" but it just re-directs me to the same screen. Has anyone else had this problem? A call to NPower is I suspect the only option which means a long wait on hold.

Hi joncombe,
npower are in the process of moving all of their Customers to their 'new system'.
Others have reported (on 20th and 24th March 2013) that the 'new system' was closed to receiving Meter Readings online until
17 April 2013: see Post #181 and the threads linked there.
Unfortunately, there are many issues with npower's 'new system' as documented in the long thread:
Warning: npower accept new customers without sending them a Contract

I have also quoted your helpful point (about how to contact npower on the phone and their lack of staff to cope with all the issues) in Post #191.

Hi joncombe,
Are the meter readings you're entering to replace previous estimated readings? Sometimes if your meter readings are lower than the ones that were estimated, you'll get this 'plausible' message.
Just to be sure, do you want to send me an email to forumresponse@npower.com with your online account details, username, and meter readings and I can get this updated and investigated for you?
Many thanks,
