We have just booked Southwark for 28 July for 2 nights. The family room was such great value. Can't wait to go xx

We stayed in Southwark a couple of years ago. It was clean and basic, perfect for crashing after a busy day!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Euston is OK, but the front rooms are noisy. You need to ask for lower ground at the back.

Woolwich one only opened late last year and is in very good nick. 5 min walk from woolwich arsenal station or the riverboats. If you do book that one phone ahead and ask for a room in the 'Bakery building' its out the back and is much quieter.

If you can afford a little more, the Premier Inn are a far higher standard, especially for inner city hotels.

I've found through experience that inner city Travel Lodges are pretty grim, and are often in a poor state of repair.

Got to endorse your opinion MoneyMate. A nice area and bus and underground links into the centre. A couple of good proper pubs around as well as a good Indian restaurant inside the council run cinema (an odd combination).

Above all though, it is usually substantially cheaper than the central London TLs.

Southwark is a good choice in my opinion - we stayed there last year and would happily do so again.

Don't eat an evening meal there though, as it's beyond dire, but that is pretty standard in any Travelodge in my experience!

    Breakfast is fine.
