London Travelodge - Opinions please

Any opinions on any of the London travelodges???

Looking for a family room for end July/start Aug. Flexible on days depending on price!

I know London well having lived there but was few years ago! Would prefer central-ish.

TIA
Bev

Been to a few, Kings Cross, one in Central London, one at Aldgate East. Never really been to a terrible travelodge, much the same wherever you go I think.

If possible I stay at Covent Garden. Just off Oxford St, it is easy to pop back for a coffee in your room. A new one opens at Vauxhall shortly so I am trying that next month.
They are all ok. The one at Bank was very quiet.

I've stayed at the one in Barking. Yes it's not central London (30 mins by tube) but it's located in the centre of town, just off the main street with a Mcds for breakfast round the corner and a supermarket not far away. It was quiet when we went (Oct half term) but its just the hotel and reception - no bar or food. We got such a great deal at £15 a night that it was rude not to take it and buy a Zone 1-4 day railcard. That week most of the central ones were asking £80+ per night. The kids thought the tube ride was great.

This is a fab one. Stayed here a few times, last time in February for a really good price!
Have stayed in Southwark, City Road,- now called Moorgate i think. A bit further out and you have Battersea, which is also great, but out from the centre obviously. Ditto the Barking one, but always to be had at a good price.

Have stayed in the Waterloo one as well, but seem to remember that was a really hot building,- uncomfortably so, but was just doing an overnighter for the Eurostar next day.

Overall though, never stayed in a bad London Travelodge, although i hear Euston can be very hit and miss.
My faves are, Covent garden when you get it for a half decent price, followed by Southwark, followed by Moorgate.

Thanks to everyone for all your comments! Particularly happy with the above as Southwark have a family room available at a very decent price! Looks recently updated & i know the local area very well so all good.

For anyone else who stumbles across this i would also agree about Waterloo one! Room was very hot (& i'm the first to complain of being cold) but all very clean & modern so TBH, if there had been availability at the right price it wouldn't have put me off.

Again, thanks everyone for your input, much appreciated!

Gordon Ramsey and David Beckham are opening a restaurant 50 feet away later in the year.

There's a Tesco Metro just around the corner in Great Suffolk Street.

Maybe I have been lucky, but I have stayed at Marylebone twice and found it ok. I would gladly stay again, if they had family rooms.
