Debt Recovery Plus Letter

Hi there,

I received a parking notice from ParkingEye and after a quick bit of research on the internet the overwhelming vote seemed to be to ignore it.

The weeks have gone by without hearing a thing but I've received a letter that seems to be from a debt collection company, Debt Recovery Plus Ltd! Is this another scare tactic or am I at the point where people are going to start knocking at my door?

I also want to check they don't have any new tricks up their sleeve to try and use against me!

Thanks in advance!

Well you have set your course now and can't appeal and use popla. So simply ignore debt recovery plus, and zenith collections next , they are actually debt recovery pretending to be someone else.

Please don't put any further details about date, times in and out and which car park etc on this or any other forum. Parking Eye employ people to scour websites looking for victims that they can issue a small claim.

On that they do issue at times, it's in a minute number of cases. No matter how many times they misuse mcol in well over 99% of the time ignore works.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

is about 'Debt Recovery plus: I have chosen to ignore them but this letter is a bit more scary - so shall I suddenly start replying now even though I'm too late to appeal and missed the chance to take it to POPLA...?'

    No.

But can they send the boys round because it looks all scary?

    No.

Can they get a CCJ against me?

    No.

So should I reply now that it's too late to appeal?

    No.

  • Hi

I've been having trouble with debt recovery plus.

They sent a letter asking me to pay £120 or go to court which I replied to saying i hadnt received the pcn but was happy to pay original fine if they had proof, I didn't get a response, I then got another letter saying the same thing so I called and had an infuriating conversation where I was told the date had passed for making an appeal and I had to pay or go to court. I then got another letter with a picture of a notice on my car, and I have just had a phone call asking me to pay today or set up a payment plan or if not seek advice from a solicitor as they will take me to court.

At no point have they given the date or details of my pcn and it may have been issued but somehow wasn't on my car when I got to it. The first letter they sent arrived on the final day to make payment!

Can anyone help, should I now just ignore them or has it gone too far?

    Thanks

When you start a new thread please don't head it up with this tosh:

    Debt recovery plus court summons

There is no such thing as a DRP 'court summons' (for a start, a summons only relates to criminal offences, and secondly, DRP a merely a debt collector so cannot litigate re a PPC fake PCN where there is no default on a credit agreement). DRP cannot take these to court, please get real!

Why not read the sticky thread at the top of this forum called: 'Private parking ticket, old or new? NEWBIES please read these FAQs first' seeing as it covers debt collector stage with links & info - and you need to stop worrying. As regards what they said on the phone, well 'they would say that, wouldn't they' springs to mind!
