Lord Mogg over at OFGEM thinks it worth it.
He charged the cost of his Easyjet premium membership to his OFGEM expenses (paid by you the consumer) so that he didnt have to queue up with the Proletariat.

I didn't bother with it when I used them but than I have prebooked my seats when I checked in.
When I flew back from Edinburgh with easyJet the overheard lockers where full so I put my handbag under the seat in front, but like I said, I only had one piece of handlugguage which was my handbag, and I preferred it down there anyway. I had paid extra for hold luggage but seemingly a vast majority had hand luggage at the maximum as the air stewardess was getting a bit annoyed by the sheer weight some where and the sheer bulk!
But anyway. The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0 -

Seriously, what does that have to do in the slightest with the topic of this thread? Or are you just upset you didn't get any outraged reply's in your other 6-month old thread so you'd try it out here?0 -
Not at all. If its good for Mr Mogg,it must be good for Joe public. Perhaps if anyone spots him sauntering to the front of the queue they can wave and see that their utility expenditure is being well spent.Seriously, what does that have to do in the slightest with the topic of this thread? Yes, but as your link shows, Mr Mogg didn't have to pay but Joe Public do.
And the OP's question was:Is this service worth the extra cost whatever it is?
'Extra cost' doesn't apply to someone claiming back the money, it does to the OP (and Joe Public) though.0 -
Well in reply to the OP then i shall add that i do not believe it is worth paying and that it simply preys on the typical British paranoia which many exhibit. If you have a ticket and you are at the gate, you are getting on the plane..simples.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). I honestly doubt anyone ever thought that speedy boarding was required to ensure getting on the plane. It was never sold on that basis either. The reason people buy (or bought) it was either to avoid the crowd when boarding, to ensure specific seats (for instance extra leg-room seats), or to ensure overhead locker space (which can be scarce).0

I had the same impression on my last flight back though it was not with Easyjet .I didn't bother with it when I used them but than I have prebooked my seats when I checked in.

I always get it quicker check in is the first benifit. Originally when it first came out it meant I could always get a seat in the front row. I like to strech my legs out when I fly due to a knee injury that still plays up.
Now with the allocated seating that comes with I get the seat I want without any hassle.
Plus as someone else said your luggage wont get shoved in the hold allowing you to get straight off and out of the airports in minutes. Especially as the airport I fly to most often only gives you 15 mins free parking. My mum normally parks in a layby near the runaway whats for my plan to taxi to the terminal. Drives round and I'm normally just coming out perfect timing
