50% Off Sky Code - Discount NOT Applied!

My girlfriend took advantage of the '50% off Sky TV and Broadband deal + £25 M&S voucher' which was posted on the MSE website on the 21st of March 2013. She clicked the link, used the code and carefully followed the instructions. Now Sky has been installed, they say they have no record of the deal and she is being charged full price for TV and broadband!
Numerous calls to Sky later, she is now having to wait for another 48 hours to see if they can resolve the matter. If they don't apply the discount she will end up paying more than she was with Virgin. If she decides to cancel, she will loose the £20 installation charge that was applied.
The install was done badly by sub-contracted 'engineers', who have not even completed the install (they still need to run the telephone extension).
I feel terrible that I told my girlfriend about this deal. Martin Lewis' good name has really been dragged through the mud here. I will take all his deals with a pinch of salt now!
Has anyone else been conned and let down Sky in this way?

I took up the deal as well but had no problems. He didn't connect the phone line to the box but did tell me that it isn't needed anymore because after you give it your wireless info or connect to your modem it is sorted it's self for on demand.0

This isn't the case for On Demand pay per views which need a connected telephone line.I took up the deal as well but had no problems. In addition, if you have multi-room your Sky boxes have to be connected to the same telephone line or you'll eventually be charged the full price of two subscriptions.0 -
Sky don't have any 'engineers', they have 'installer's. As you found out.
As above, the phone connection requirement is not enforced unless you have Multiroom, so forget about it unless you do.No free lunch, and no free laptop

That is why I put 'engineers' in quotes. The quality of their subcontracted installers is very very bad.
The telephone connection is supposed to be part of the installation. Some services won't work unless this is done.0 -

not hard to plug in is it?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
I took this offer with no problems. I did receive a confirmation email when I ordered that showed what I'd be paying - do you have this at all as evidence?0
