Ah yes, but in the main my tablet will be used to view items when I am out of wifi range, (rail journeys) once maybe twice in three months. So to connect "live" for a two hour journey each way wouldn't be worth it as I could read/look at items in my "pocket".

May not suit you at the moment, but it's still worth posting for anyone out there that may have use for it.

I couldn't agree more. Even though I am a very new user of tablets, tomorrow someone could arrive here having just bought one, so their knowledge would be zero.

re the items saved on your laptop its just google (I believe it is) copying the data on the tablet to the pc. As for the password thing I cant answer that as I haven't looked into it but will be intersting to know how you do it.

Even if he did have a SIM slot, something like Ovivo would likely be a better suit for him, with a one off payment of £15 and then a 500MB allowance every month at no extra cost.
