Definitely sounds as if it should be your, as you are correct that you're is short for you are.

Where did you copy it from?

It should be "your new life...". "You're" means "you are", as you said.

You are correct, in this case it should be "your" new life has begun.

it was from a website called imageination that allows you to use there poems for free this is the poem in its entirety. ive also seen it on another website with the same spelling
Today dear Son, as you walk down the aisle
You'll see all the faces wearing a smile.
But as we remember those young tender years
Our smiles will conceal a few hidden tears.
They're not tears of sorrow, but tears full of joy
As we're both thinking back to our dear little boy
And now you have grown up and made us so proud
As you smile for the camera and the rest of the crowd
Remember dear (name) as you take your new wife
You're still very much a part of our life!
We're gaining a daughter. not losing a son,
You're new lives as husband and wife have begun
  • It's certainly "Your".

Careful also with your use of "there" and "their" mind you ;)

    (Sorry - this isn't personal - I'm a bit of a spelling/grammar bore!)

And to add "You're still very much...." is of course correct (I expect in previous copyings someone's brain slipped because the 2 lines are co close together)
