that' i'm afraid is above my technical knowledge. when it was brought to our attention that urls were being shared on forums the reply from the people who built the technical part was " this will interfere with their tracking."

yep if the url is there check and paste, just don't trust its correct without checking. and DONT share on online public forums.

Don't worry, they cannot track them.

They can see that traffic will have gone to their site from MSE, but not by who and not on the entry form as you are just entering an URL and that is copied from the site so tracking makes no difference.

Just keep searching for the ones you don't have. The promoters have to be naive to think that sharing competitions doesn't go on, especially ones that takes up so much time.

The URLS are copied from the page of the pics, there is absolutely 100% no way on this earth they can be tracked by anyone.

The only thing they will notice, is that they have a lot of visitors from MSE (and other comp sharing sites) and that is all. They will see that we are sharing here and probably don't like it. However, all they are asking for is the URL of where the pic is. They cannot track anything from this URL.
