    Morning all,

Save a holic, I'm jealous, I so want to join the WI but the Manchester one is full until December 13 and then you have to apply as they have a long list:(
An update on the great crafting saga, tried to make an elephant as a break from the blanket, 4 hrs later I chucked it across the room, shall maybe try again in the future.
Need a swish around this morning and some washing to put away.
Very little work for dh at the moment despite loads of advertising, its really coming to crunch time when he may have to consider changing to something else. Luckily he can do lots of things but finding a job after 20 yrs working for himself is very daunting.
I literally had to drag DS out of bed this morning, I don't envy the person teaching him this morning.
I have my hospital appointment at lunch so fingers crossed they will finally scan my leg and tell me what's wrong.
Not much else, tea will involve sweet potato as I need to use them up other than that not a lot.
    Have a good Monday x

Edited to add, darling grandson got into the school of his choice yayyyy!

    Hi Julie

I love the WI - it has been a true lifesaver for me. :). You should have a look at the NFWI website and maybe contact them for help as anyone can set up a WI and, if there is a waiting list at the Manchester one, it sounds like the area is ripe for a second group! There are small villages around here that have two groups because they are so popular - so I imagine Manchester would need a fair few.

There are directions on the website for how to set one up on your own, and you could contact them for guidance (and they may even be able to get hold of the waiting list from the existing group?) :)

    Morning all,
not been on here for a while so I'm not up to date yet.
As well as the usual os stuff DH and I have been clearing undergrowth from the land behind our back boundary, there is a huge Sycamore tree that we want chopped down. I'm worried about it crashing down as it sways so much in high wind, also the roots are so near our main drainage. The owner of the land said it was half on his and half on another person's land. We contacted both owners and they said, yes have it chopped down if you want but we're not paying.
We got our friend who is a tree feller to give us a price, yikes !! defo not mates rates but he was cheaper than 2 other quotes.
At least we will have the wood to store and use for the inglenook.

Our vg friend turned up unexpectantly on Thursday night in a dreadfull state. His 24yr old Son had been killed in Paris last month. DF, Russ had to visit his Mum who lives not far from us, he always comes to see us when he's down our way. He was going to book into a T Lodge but I said he must stay with us. He was a broken man. By the time he left on Sunday morning we were all phsically and emotionaly exhausted. We never got to bed before 1am.
We had to go to DD1 in Bath for a family lunch after Russ left, the last thing we wanted to do but, it was DD's OH's birthday. Got home at 6pm and just chilled out.
4 beds stripped and remade, wm will be going non stop today, thankfully it's sunny here.
Hope you all have a good week.

    Morning all,

bright and sunny here, got the wm on the go, and will hang it on the line, will do a towel load after.

Dropping dd at work this morning (college is not back till wed) then home to do office work which should take about 4 hours, I then need to take the dog out, we walked her for hours yesterday, and she seemed so much more settled and relaxed, so a good walk needed today.

I am taking dd into town later, she is going to finish with her boyf, who has got far too clingy and serious, she is only 18 and wants to see a bit of the world, and he wants to settle down, is never going to work, she wants me there (in town not with them !) in case he gets too heavy, lets hope he doesn't.

I have a chicken to roast tonight, its the biggest bird you have ever seen, so should do a few meals. I also need to do an online shop.

    Sistercas, hugs to you xxx

    Have good days all xx

    Morning everyone,

Save-a-holic I have been to see singalonga sound of music and I laughed so much my cheekbones hurt! You should think yourself lucky with your outfit, my friends dressed me up in leiderhosen made from curtain material!

Judi Have a hug anyway in case you need one later.

Molly,PP, LW and Hilstep Hugs for you.

I am back at work today and having difficulty settling down to doing anything so I thought that i would pop on and say hello.
All the childrens clubs start up again tonight so I will be running around after them all evening. I will also have to negotiate when I can have my own car as OH keeps taking DS out for driving practice in it.

    Tea tonight is LO chilli.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:):)
  • Hooray! It's just gone ten and I have done so much already. Can you tell the children are back at school?

One load of washing is in and then there's one more after that. I did all the regular housework yesterday and I have batch cooked for the week so nothing there to do. I can have a lazy week or I can choose to do some in depth cleaning. Which one?

Most of my eBay parcels have been sent now. I used the myhermes for the first time. It seems ok so far, as long as the parcels get there! My London spends are building nicely, but so is my wish list. I still have 5 weeks before we go so hopefully I can save plenty. I still have a few things listed and lots to go on.

Hope everyone gets to enjoy the weather today.

Lazy week or deep clean Tenyears? Do a bit of both I'd say, or just see what you feel like.

Speaking of cleaning, I spring-cleaned the whole flat on Saturday and it must have been a good workout because now I'm sore all over! Worth it though. Nice and sunny here today and it's warmed up a bit too, hopefully spring is finally springing. I like winter too but am thoroughly tired of being cold.

    Hi all,

Save a holic thanks, I don't know whether I'm brave enough to start a group but will keep trying to join:)
Just to say so sorry for your loss Beth how awful :( when you've got kids yourself that age it really hits home x
BB I agree, he is such a clever bu@@er but I'm more concerned how difficult he would find it taking orders from someone else, after being his own boss, it really would be a last resort.
Anyway I will finish on good news my DGS got into his chosen school with an outstanding Oftsed report and seems to be the feeder school for the local grammar school my daughter would like him to attend. He is such a clever little boy I am sure he will thrive:T she is thrilled to bits
Oh and a big thank you to whoever mentioned the Amazon trade in, sorry I've forgot:o I've just made 16 pounds in ten minutes. I think most people will be having pressies from amazon this year.:D

  • Hello everybody and hugs to all in need.

Well feeling pretty despondent at Rage Towers this morning - no work at all in my in tray and I had very little last week :( This can't go on. Seriously thinking of contacting some temping agencies although I thought I'd finished with them 10 years ago.... Have got an ad for an internet admin job but will need to submit my CV and it's very old fashioned so I need to revamp that. Would start de-mossing the front lawn but it looks like it's going to chuck it down so would it be better to wait until it's wet and easier to pull up? Might put some more lawn sand down as it's only died in places......Plus I feel sick.... Lordy, you can tell it's Monday :rotfl:

I do have a list of baking to do so I might just plough on with that and OH did do the washing up last night (well this morning actually as he woke me up doing it at 7) but I need to put everything away.

On a plus note I have put my OMD tickets for Manchester on ebay as well..... face value only buy-it-now minus booking fees plus a slightly lower auction start.... I'd have loved to have really discounted them but we need to recoup our outlay on them....

Ah well today is a new week, let's see what it brings! Hope everyone has a nice day!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
