Making a fair offer, rather than a ridiculous one.0

Tempt them with a reasonable offer and cash, that normally works."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Not always; we have an internal policy of not accepting cash payments for bulk buys/certain services, to comply with AML legislation and cross-border currency checks.
Offer what you think is reasonable, explain why, and don't go too low.

99.9999999% of people will be more keen to get cash for something.
This is someone selling something on ebay, after all."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

That is true.
If it's something like a car, however, it's always card on collection/paypal. We shift a lot of stuff through eBay when we're done with it.

When I put something on for best offer I am looking for around 70% of price.0 -

Usually people decline my cash offers made while an auction is still running (listed as auction and postage only).q
Then after it's sold they realise they got less for it after fees and postage even though the winner's max bid was quite higher than mine (and I even bid more than I would have because I don't have to pay postage)0 -
Maybe 500 of my items are BIN with best offer. I refuse offers less than 20% of the listed price, but am just changing my listings to say I'll accept most reasonable offers if they're buying more than one item, or from more than one listing.
I'm only doing this as I list with 'free' p & p., and I have a lot of multi-item sales.
Usually I make a counter offer, but now if it's a stupid offer, I just decline with no message.
In the past, when I've been offered a couple of quid for a £30 item, I've countered with £29.99 to try to make them realise just how stupid they've been.
Occasionally I've had a message from a buyer on one of my listing with auto-decline set up, saying they can't make any more offers, and that type of buyer goes straight onto my BBL.Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0
