Hi,
I have got Alton Towers Tickets for the bank holiday Monday 7th May. I have always gone on a weekday, term time. Anybody been on a bank holiday? Would be great that the children won't have to take a day off school. Not sure if I should swap tickets for a week day.
Thanks0 -
sorry if this has been asked already, but it's a massive thread and the search option is hopeless.
i know alton towers has a single rider thing, but does drayton manor do this?
also do they do the parent swap thing and how does it work?
thanks0 -

I would like to know this as well. We used the single rider queues at DLP all the time - though at first we thought our kids (6 and 8) woulnd't like it. They certainly enjoyed not standing in queues for agescarebear13 wrote: »also do they do the parent swap thing and how does it work?
Don't know about Thorpe Park but Chessington certainly does. Each park may be different but it basically means you only have to queue once for both parents to get a go on rides which the kids aren't allowed on. Does that make sense ?
One tip I have only recently discovered is this ... I know the food inside the parks is usually overpriced but at Legoland and Chessington (and hopefully TP and AT as well), kids eat free at the restaurants after 3pm.
I also have a quick question. We got Standard Annual Merlin passes in January (when they were 50%). I know they haven't been previously, but Merlin Annual Passholders can now get into Legoland at any time, right (as opposed to only after 2pm in August) ?0 -

Check with the park on the morning before setting out. Legoland was closed on Sunday but that was a power failure I think.
Alton Towers closes in bad weather occasionally, it's happened at least once this year. Rain is fine, but if it's snowing and freezing then the tracks might be frozen I suppose. I have been to Alton Towers in the snow though, so it's best to check52% tight0 -

I can't see the details on the website but am sure I saw 'parent swap' information on the ride signs in Thomas Land. It might be worth asking them.52% tight0 -
We are going to legoland Windsor at the end of august. We have 4 year old twins and an 18 month old. Would like to go for 2 days as we are traveling from Sheffield. Would like to know
which is the best way to pay - we have nectar vouchers not sure if we have enough for 2 days. We have a 2 for 1 voucher from wh smith. I looked on the Site and they are offering 40 percent off advance tickets but can't book with nectar. Don't want to turn up and find the nectar points don't work or the voucher is not being accepted that day but also want the cheapest option. Having nightmare that we will stand at the gate and can't. Get in because my nectar card has been refused!. Also does it ever sell out?
Any advice on this or any other legotips would be great0 -
I didn't realise until recently you can look around the parks using google street view its really cool, you can plan a bit better for your day - the kids seem to look round it too.0

Thinking of taking the family to Thorpe Park, I'm sure my oldest will get a lot out of it but is there much there for a 7 year old??
