I have twice recently. I entered a comp to win a Treasure Trail booklet and bought one after not winning. It was great fun and I feel pleased I found out about the company through comping. I've bought a second one since the kids loved it.
Also, I succumbed to buying some 9 bars (after entering to win them forever on FB). I'm eating healthier lately and they were on offer

I bought a bagpod from RedDog bag's after finding out about them through a competition on here. It was exactly what I had been looking for to sort out all my many bits and pieces in my rather huge bag.
I made a point of putting in the where did you here about us? section that it was through a competition in a magazine. Thought it would be good for them to know that offering prizes does really generate business.
There is a current competition on the boards posted in the last few days for one as well.0 -

I bought a book last week after entering a competition for it and I've bought quite a few things from sites that I only discovered via comping. So overall, I reckon competitions do work as a good source of marketing/advertising.Living with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0

There was a comp to win a Lisa Angel pearl and charm bracelet. I fell in love with it so much I didn't even bother with the comp and went straight to the website to buy it instead. I also bought a necklace.Comping since March 2013

Yep, entered dozens of competitions to win "Walking With Dinosaurs" tickets, as my boys were desperate to see it, gave up in the end and bought tickets when they were on special offer so didn't mind so much.
(Sods law says I'll get a WEM for some tickets in the next few weeks, ha ha ha!!!)0 -
