Have you ever bought anything after trying to win it?

I have twice recently. I entered a comp to win a Treasure Trail booklet and bought one after not winning. It was great fun and I feel pleased I found out about the company through comping. I've bought a second one since the kids loved it.

Also, I succumbed to buying some 9 bars (after entering to win them forever on FB). I'm eating healthier lately and they were on offer :D

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

I bought a Shimla jewelled pen and a Fairtrade Make Up bag as gifts for my Daughter's birthday next month after seeing them as prizes.

I bought a bagpod from RedDog bag's after finding out about them through a competition on here. It was exactly what I had been looking for to sort out all my many bits and pieces in my rather huge bag.

I made a point of putting in the where did you here about us? section that it was through a competition in a magazine. Thought it would be good for them to know that offering prizes does really generate business.

There is a current competition on the boards posted in the last few days for one as well.
  • I bought two trunki paddlepaks last week. If there had not been a competition to win them I wouldn't have even known they existed :)

I've brought clothes from sites I never knew existed since comping.
Got a lovely bag when I didn't win it on a fb comp.
Also some dvds when I haven't won those in comps.
  • I bought a book last week after entering a competition for it and I've bought quite a few things from sites that I only discovered via comping. So overall, I reckon competitions do work as a good source of marketing/advertising.

  • I've discovered the shelikes clothing website through comping. Very nice things and I'd never heard of it before.

I have just bought a new landline BT phone I saw in a comp which can block unwanted calls ( I don't use my landline number for comping)

    I love it

There was a comp to win a Lisa Angel pearl and charm bracelet. I fell in love with it so much I didn't even bother with the comp and went straight to the website to buy it instead. I also bought a necklace. :D

Yep, entered dozens of competitions to win "Walking With Dinosaurs" tickets, as my boys were desperate to see it, gave up in the end and bought tickets when they were on special offer so didn't mind so much.

(Sods law says I'll get a WEM for some tickets in the next few weeks, ha ha ha!!!)

I had the opposite. I bought a new tv, then a week later I won a better one!
