O/S Daily Sunday 14th April 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning to halight and to all who cross/follow,
It is supposed to be another nice day here. I got four loads of washing dry yesterday,so was pleased with that. I will probably get out into the garden today for a bit of a tidy up.
My Mum and Dad are coming round today because they didn't come round yesterday. They don't stay too long, just enough time for a cuppa and a chat.
No other real plans for today.
Roast chicken with roast potatoes, veg and yorkshires for tea tonight. We won't be eating until hubby gets home from work at 7.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all
Sunny here at the moment, not sure how long it will last.
Hubby's watching the GP with a cuppa & a bacon sarnie.
Plans for today include making a start on some cushions for my DD from some pyjama tops, I think there is enough to make 2 plain ones and 1 or maybe 2 patchwork ones, I'll do a disappearing 9 patch. Hubby's on late's next week so I will have the evenings all on my own & it will give me something to do.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning
Those Sunday lunches sound lovely, we're not having one today as we are taking dd1 back to uni , we are popping in to see my sister and family on the way too.:) it's ages since I've seen her so it will be lovely
I was up early , the downstairs is cleaned, tidied and hoovered, kitchen cleaned .
Going to have breakfast and then have a shower .
Have a lovely day everyone xx0 -
Good morning everyone

It feels so much warmer today. We have had rain this morning, it's stopped now but it's set to be changeable all day, so if washing goes out, it will be carefully watched and may be doing the hokey cokey dance!
We had a very odd bits and pieces dinner to use up fridge stuff but we enjoyed it. Tonight we are having lentil stew with bacon and sausage bits added, which will use up the last things that need to go from the fridge. Need to make a batch of soup for the freezer so the cooked lentils will double up for that.
Am worried about a noise the car is making, so we need to book it in for a service and possibly some brake work. I don't think this is going to be cheap and my ebay triumph may be disappearing into the garage funds rather than our debt.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day

Breast is very cheap,
You can get it our of the Supermarkets rolled,
Or From the Butchers on the bone.
If you by it Rolled.
There are some great recipes out there for stuffing.
We did an orange and nut one once.,
Unroll your Lamb, Spread your stuffing on the inside of the breast
Then roll and tie back up.
we have our on the bone today.
I should point out, That the meat you get on a Lamb breast is quite fatty,
Also they are best cooked slow.:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Morning everyone,
Molly, Hilstep and LW Hugs for you.
Jools A good cry is long overdue.
Halight How long till your chicks start laying.
Well the sun is shining on the last day of my holiday from school and I will probably spend the afternoon attempting to tidy the garden.
I had a lovely day at meadow hell yesterday with a school friend.
I went on the train and took DD1, DD2 and 3 of their friends too. I just accompanied them there and then gave them a time to meet me for the train and spent the day catching up with my friend.
We did share the train back with 2 very loud stag parties heading for Nottingham which was very entertaining!
We are having our sunday roast this evening.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Sun is trying to break through the cloud here but very damp underfoot after the continous rain that started yesterday afternoon - it's quite windy so hopefully the wet will dry up quite quickly.
DS1 & 2 are both up watching GP, DH in the bath. I've already had a shower and brekkie.
Dinner at mum's last night was lovely, DH didn't come with us and I'm pleased he didn't as I don't think he would have liked what my bro and SIL cooked - but the boys and myself enjoyed it, also everyone liked the cheesecake too and there was some LO that I managed to bring home. We didn't get home until after 9pm, so was good to spend some time with my family.
This morning we are going shortly to wash the caravan - it's filthy from the last time we used it as the field was very wet and muddy. I'm going to set the auto timer on the oven and put the chicken in so it starts cooking and then lunch won't be too late, we're having roast chicken and all the trimmings, LO cheesecake for dessert. Whilst lunch is cooking I will make pack ups etc ready for tomorrow so then I won't have to worry about those later and I will chill for the rest of the day.
DH going to collect his work van at tea time tonight.
Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone
Yesterday I was on a WI Log Cabin Quilting Course - very enjoyable and informative. I did half of my housework when I got in and will do the rest today. Tea last night was Chicken Kiev with veg and potatoes (yum!!). Then did more crochet of my carrier bags.
Today I am off to a craft show at Gateshead Stadium, so looking forward to seeing what they have and may buy a few odds and ends that I need but will be keeping a tight hold on my purse strings!
Tea tonight will be buffet - sandwiches, sausage rolls and cake. Have a good day all!
