Quick ISA query

Ok so I have pretty much all my life savings in a cash ISA with halifax

And a current account that I pay my wages into

I don't do online banking - I use telephone banking

I've been thinking , if I suddenly needed all the money in my ISA, how would I get at it?

I have a big problem going into a branch and getting it , as I don't really have any proper ID - i have no passport or driving licence etc

So

My question is, can i ring my Halifax phone banking number and ask them to simply transfer all the money from my ISA to my current account? (I know this would mean they would close my ISA and I would lose interest due etc)

It's just all my life savings are in there and I'm scared about getting at it if I really needed it urgently!

Thanks

All a ISA is is a savings account with a tax free wrapper. So yes if it's instant access you should just be able to transfer from ISA to current account as with any other savings account.
