Travel City flight delay October 2007

Please can anyone help we were delayed on 26 Oct 2007 Manchester to Orlando Sanford. We travelled with Travel City but I cannot find anything about this flight on flightstats. I know Travel City went bust so I wondered if anyone had any ideas. ie what was the code for travel city and what airline did they use? or even better did anyone on the forum fly with TC. The departure was the 27th eventually.

As far as I know they used a number of airlines, some of whom have gone out of business as well.
Check the FAQs to find out how to find flight details as there may still be a record there

According to flightstats there were 4 MAN-SFB flights on that date but none are showing delays

Flightstats shows four flights to Sanford from Manchester that day: three were more or less on time, one is showing as unknown. So assuming that was your one, this had the airline code VZ. This was mytravel (though flight stats thinks it's velvet sky). They were bought out I think by Thomas Cook, so they're the people you'd claim from - assuming this is indeed your flight.

I would suggest one problem will be actually proving you were on the flight

Most of Travel City's flights from Manchester were on a less than reliable 747 operated by Air Atlantic Iceland. At one point Manchester Airport were so concerned at the numbers delayed by the airline that they moved check in to a point near the railway station to keep the crowds away from ther terminal check in areas, if that was the airline, then you are no doubt not surprised to know it no longer operates at all
  • We were delayed on a Travel City flight from Sanford Orlando to Manchester on 27/10/07 and are trying to put together the information required to make a claim. Is anyone able to assist? Owing to the length of time that has elapsed we don't have any flight details and would appreciate some guidance on who to claim from as Travel City went bust shortly after we flew with them. We were put up over night in a hotel and flew out on 28/10/07.

According to flighstats that could have been flight number JN131 scheduled arrival 08:35 28th October, Actual arrival 01:11 29th October
Flight was operated by Excel Airways which are bust so there is no claim (as per the FAQs)

But according to this website you could try claiming from your credit card if you used it for your flight. The credit card company will still want all your flight details though.
