I do the normal thing, use a price comparison site to get the price and then my husband phones them and tells them its a WAV, Im with Arriva currently and I was with RAC the previous year, my insurrance is do again next month.

They are not allowed to charge you more because its a modified vehicle but they do try by saying any repairs will be very expensive (which is true)

My insurance is just under £400 for my Paravan, I have full no claims bonus.

Of course they can charge you more. My Range Rover has the Overfinch aftermarket features. If it gets pranged it costs a lot more to repair or replace than a bog standard one.

The only thing that they are no longer allowed to charge more for is sex (I don't mean they charge you extra for sex) of the driver.

My insurance is less than someone who is exactly the same but has children under 18. It's all about risk and how the cover any potential payout.

Brassedoff - you have my wife's dream car!

However I think Sunnyone meant to say that you can't be charged more for disability related modifications.

I am wrong with that one then, I believed it was the other way, I am wrong (hey, I admit it :T

I love my new car, its a big improvement on my old RR, I have the
4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Overfinch. It's great a bit too much dark wood. But working from my bed when I am ill makes it worth it. (No change from my DLA either too ;) )
