Hyundai i10 3rd year service

Has it been serviced every year (regardless of mileage) to Hyundais schedule and using Hyundai parts? If not then you might find your warranty wont be honoured (depending on what fails of course). The car hasn't got main dealer stamps in the book, last service was when we bought it from the local peugot dealer - so not to bothered about the main dealer stamp in the book
...
The local Hyundai dealer (who we haven't used before) have said that as special offer they are giving £50 discount because we haven't used them before (I know that they will try and find something else wrong).
In my experience of both Hyundai and Kia main agents, they just carry out a standard menu service and send you on your way.
From memory the third service is a minor one so the price you have been quoted is good for a main agent as it will be 1hr labour at £80-£90ish +vat then parts on top.0 -
"Even at £176 that's a good price IMO." Not for an intermediate service which the third probably is. Depending on mileage and use, as has been mentioned, an engine oil and filter change with inspection and top ups as necessary.
To compare - third annual main dealer service for a Toyota Yaris on their "fixed price" plan is £119.0 -
According to the service book, it had pre del inspection stamp, and the local pug dealer stamped the 1st service when then serviced the car before we collected it (it was an ex enterprise car so im guessing that they would have serviced it at end of year 1 - so the pug garage stamped the wrong year!).. going to contact enterprise to confirm this with them (they should have the record for the service I hope!).0

You are unbelievably naive!

why? my works van has done 110k in the last couple of years and the service book hasn't been stamped once and the van is serviced as per manufacturers recommendation.
The lease company will have a full history of the services carried out and any other work that has been carried out on the van.
When I bought my previous car it was also an ex enterprise car, I contacted them and they sent me the record of work that had been carried out on the vehicle prior to me purchasing the vehicle.0 -

Something that is a possibility given they had stated they were getting a £50 reduction in the service cost due to not having taken their car to the garage in question before.
I completely agree with you that keeping a main dealer service history on a 3 year old car is the best plan.
No it was a generalised statement.
I had only skimmed your post when I posted.0 -
The car hasn't got main dealer stamps in the book, last service was when we bought it from the local peugot dealer - so not to bothered about the main dealer stamp in the book - from what I can locate on the web it is mainly a oil and filter change, and check other things - checked online with a local garage I have used in the past and for a similar service they are charging £159.99.
The local Hyundai dealer (who we haven't used before) have said that as special offer they are giving £50 discount because we haven't used them before (I know that they will try and find something else wrong).
Tricky one to suggest - the 2011+ i10 comes with a 5 year warranty (http://www.i10ownersclub.co.uk/news/i10-specifications/) but as mentioned above you must be able to prove it's been serviced with genuine parts and in accordance with the handbook. I'm not sure if the 5 year warranty was included on pre 2011 cars?
A stamp from a Hyundai garage is a given that it was serviced properly. A stamp from anywhere else and you might have a battle on your hands should you need to claim.
Regardless of the above, the price you have been quoted is good. Even the cheapest indy round here is £99 for a service with no genuine parts used...0 -
Are they doing the MOT as well? You will need to check the date on the V5 as it is due 3 years from the 1st date of registration - you get no warnings/reminders of MOTs.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
