01624 an "international" dialling code???

I looked at my statement and had a £3 charge for phoning an international number which began "01624". I rang T-mobile and they claimed it was Isle of Man, hence international!!
Luckily they refunded the charges, but I thought this was really outrageous! Anyone had this problem? I don't mind paying for international calls, but not if it is a UK-dialling code!! :mad:

01624 is Isle of Man, these aren't usually charged as UK rates.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

The Isle of Man is not part of the UK (also applies to the Channel Islands) but some bright spark didn't allocate them their own country code and the landline and mobile numbers are +44 which leads to the confusion. Some networks do charge as per UK calls/texts.0

Been phoning Isle of Man for years on BT line (sometimes Primus or TalkTalk) and always paid as if phoning London or Sheffield. Are you talking about mobile phones?0
