Claiming whilst abroad?

Options
Our daughter is abroad at Uni' till June

We are, like most, banging our heads trying to get a claim accepted here

I have been 'firing the bullets' on her behalf and now is the time to do a NBA

If it does go to court, would she have to attend?

Any court action is going to take several months from now. I doubt you'd get a date before July at the earliest.

Seems to be confusion between the parts covering denied boarding and delay.
Check their T&Cs for denied boarding & read the legislation. I don't think there are many acceptable excuses for denied boarding if the flight operated

She wasn't 'denied boarding' it was just that EJ hadn't put enough fuel in the plane so (they say) were asking for 4 volunteers to not go to make the plane lighter.
I suppose in the literal meaning - that is quite 'extraordinary' ;)

Yes, but if she was away, could I go and 'represent' her?

Yes. If you are joint claimants, you don't have to be there in person. You might usefully have a letter from her (and other adult passengers) confirming you are their representative.

I am not a 'joint claimant' - she went away with a friend, just the two of them.
