The trouble is that you can't or aren't allowed to telephone the people that actually make these payments. You have to go through a load of security questions and always forget the memorable thingy, then end up with some poor young girl who knows absolutely nothing and at best can send an email.
I know you have to pass security when you ring understandable and you do talk to someone at the contact center who then sends a memo if they cant answer your query
There are two types of memo they can send non call back and call back.
You ask for a call back memo to be sent regarding your payment and the processing section have to call you back, I know you cant phone them, they phone you.
And then they do the payment..
Try this next time.0 -
I read that payments go in on days relating to the letters on your NI number

It's the numbers

they do usually, but sometimes they dont go in for whatever reason so thats why a Fep or same day banking has to be done manually0

What's a Fep please ?Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
Sorry
FEP is a Faster Electronic Payment, its a way of manually paying benefit the same day usually on the due date, when the benefit has failed to go in for what ever reason. The payment can clear then into the account within three hours
if the late payment was released by the system this would take another three working days to clear to the account0 -
There was also on a recent thread with information that IB was paid a day early and ESA is paid on time.
If my transfer is successful I expect to go from Friday (when I currently get the IB) to Monday payments.
My NI number puts me in the Monday bracket..0 -

Yes that is right for me. My last two numbers are 72 so that put's me on a Thursday which is correct.0 -

Right then that seems to be the answer then. I always get my late payment credited to the account on a Tuesday afternoon when it should have been there on the previous Thursday - 3 days - Friday, Monday & Tuesday!!
So I suppose that they can choose how to pay it, FEP or system release - seems a bit unfair to me.0 -
Thank you all so much for your replies, I am too being given the run around, my money wasn't in the bank on Monday so I called and was told that there is often a delay in your first ever payment of ESA, but it will be in on Wednesday. umm will find out tomorrow, thanks again0
