HG523a removing remote management

I was told to do this,

phota.me/WCJP.jpg

Yet when I go to my IP address it still show's the darn login page, but on my phone using mobile data, I see my NSA's http server, which is what I need in the first place. I have also setup a no-ip with the IP but still nothing.

Can someone help me?

i take it you are try to remove remote management access from your router?

    if so why?
why not just lock the computer out is easier?
also if insistent of router why don't you just change the pasword up to something stupidly long that would never be hacked with an ssl encryption as well?
btw you do reaslise your isp will always have access to router to this via there backdoor methods if this is a concern as well!

a little more info of what exactly you want to do and why you may get more help!

also have you actually logged into your router thru your browser?
reading what you have written seems you cant even get in from where i am sitting?

Sorry you misunderstood. Basically I can get into my router, I am trying to portforward 80 to my NSA with http server. I go to my ip, shows router login page, not the http server I need. I either need to disable the remote login or as you said lock the PC from seeing it, but idk how. Cheers,

regarding port forwarding you tried for your router
    http://portforward.com/

for your router and then you will need to set up server side to correct port once configured the router first. goto go breakfast yum.
  • I can portforward just need to remove remote login on WAN as I cannot see my site from my server, cause I get a login page.

just had a thought you not trying to access your ip from your own network here are you if so it would just kick you onto router log in! e.g. you tried accessing from someone elses internet with seperate ip or getting log in on that as well?
btw if is for just for you around out and about you thought about just using an ftp client at all like cuteftp at all as is alot easier to set up where you can set up users with passwords and by doing that will take proper use of your lines speed as well.

but please note this version above is only 30 day free trial.
found you routers instructions clear as mud shows not much in the way of structure of menus which is where you need to be looking thru and with out me seeing i have trouble helping you.

  • I see my page on someone's network, but not mine cause it comes up with login page. Need to stop that. Need to see page on someone's network and mine.

What router is it? You need to enable "NAT loopback", if your router will support it. That way you can go to your (external) IP address and should see the port forwarding like anyone else.

If it's anything like many other routers, you should be able to set it via telnet, using something like ...

    ip config natloopback=enabled
    saveall

... if you just do ip config first then you'll see a list of the current configuration (if ip config is a valid command for that router).

Using a HG523a Router can you tell me how to telnet please?

Assuming you are using Windows, which version? (In some versions you need to enable the telnet interface first).

Assuming Windows 7 and telnet is enabled ...

    Click on the Windows key
In the Search and program files box type in telnet IP-Address and press Enter. (IP-Address is the address of your router; e.g. 192.168.1.254)
In the new window that opens type in the username* (e.g. Administrator) and press Enter
Type in the password* and press Enter

You are now in telnet and can try the commands I suggested. However I DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE COMMANDS ARE CORRECT FOR YOUR ROUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So caveat emptor and all that. :)

    * The login details are probably the same as what you use for the web interface of the router. The command to come out of telnet is quit or exit. (I can't remember).
