Really annoyed at 1.5litre milk

I disagree that this is rip-off Britain, as others have stated our farmers are struggling and need to earn a decent living wage. A lot of shops are against raising prices so may alter sizes instead but at the end of the day some prices have to raise.
I generally don't like paying £1 for 4 pints of milk at Asda as this feels too cheap and I wonder if they aren't paying the farmers correctly!
Got to agree, a lot of dairy farmers aren't earning much (if anything) at all0 -
Whatever.
But Granola will often have as much sugar as a kids cereal be it fructose, lactose or whatever so the point I was making is do not be sucked in by thinking it is a healthier option sugar wise.
Right. As this was a thread about milk prices I shall do one as I have nothing to add onthat point.0 -
8 pints per day between 5 people/children is way too much. Also milk is very cheap overall compared to other foods. Weetabix isn't healthy imo, muesli or porridge is the healthiest options. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It may be too much by your reckoning. But in our house (2 adults and a teenager) we use about 2-3 litres everyday. We have milky coffee (2 mugs), cereal/porridge with milk and a glass of warm milk before bed. We (2 adults) get through:
3 x 2 litres organic Guernsey whole milk per week
500g - 1 kg organic natural live yogurt per week
2 x 6 large organic free range eggs per week
OH eats organic no added sugar muesli or organic Weetabix at home on weekends, and would take about 4 months to get through 24 Weetabix and 1kg muesli. They look like a muesli/mush island in an ocean of milk in his bowl thoughAt work he has organic porridge and again takes him about 2 months to get through the box.
I've given up on his carb fest but now he has a Graze box weekly, he doesn't get organic carrot cake etc0
