Green deal blues

Hi everyone
I wondered if anyone had a second to advise with this query:
I have a small house in Manchester I own and rent out.
The managing agent, explained I would qualify for a new boiler under the 'Green Deal' initiative, I was unaware of this Green Deal system, the old boiler was old and the deal sounded good and I figured would probably make the central heating work better in this colder weather.
The reason for my post is this though: they (the contractors employed by Green Deal to execute the task) have fitted the boiler but damage has been caused.
This is the email from my agent:
< Hi
Hope all is well with you.
We had a call from the Green Deal yesterday advising that the application had been accepted for the new boiler. They had a cancellation and have managed to fit the new boiler this morning.
The old system was a gravity fed system, but the new combi system is pressurized to 1.5 bar, due to the increase in pressure the lounge radiator has sprang a leak along with the 2 bedroom radiators.
This happens due to the radiators corroding from inside. I tried to get the Green Deal provider to replace the radiators but they refused.I've had 1 radiator leaking after a combi conversion but 3 is a bit unlucky.
I can supply and fit the lounge radiator for £190
Front bed radiator £130
Back bed £110
Let me know if your ok with this
The Green Deal provider is sending round an electrician tomorrow to fit a new room thermostat.
Have a good evening
Mark >
I don't exactly feel great about what's happened here.
I wondered if anybody with plumbing or heating or even Green deal experience may be able to advise me to either:
1. Shutup, nothing I can do.
or...
2. If I have room for complaint here, and if so, how do i go about it?
Hope to hear from you.
best regards
Alex

The green deal does not work like this
you have to fill in forms, jump through hoops and confirm that you are fuly in agreement with what's being offered.
There is no way this is legit

My agent will have done all of this, yes, thank you for your post.
We clearly wouldn't be in a position to have anything done by Green Deal, unless my Agent had done all this paperwork you mention.
The application process is not the main issue, I was hoping to discuss here though.
Thank you for your post, however.
I'd appreciate any input anyone can give.0 -
Try posting this on the 'in my home' board as there are plumbers, gas fitters etc who might be able to help you with the technicalities/price etc.0

I think that's the point that Tim was making. You've been approved for the deal, and someone's been able to supply and fit a new boiler, all within a morning? Why on earth would your managing agent be involved with promoting the Green Deal to their clients? This sounds incredibly dodgy.0 -
Thanks MOS, i'll try. I cannot find that board though, am I missing it?0

Just go right to the top of the page and click on 'forum' then scroll down until you come to it.
Or follow Davesnave link, much easier !0 -
1) This is Green Deal. If so: you own the property so you must approve the work. You must therefore have agreed to the change from gravity to combi system. Leaking rads from increased pressure are always a risk where system is old and pressure increased.
You have no comeback but will need to arrange repairs, either yourself or via your agent.
2) This was not Green Deal. In that case you have been scammed by the agent in some way - though I don't at this stage see how. After all, they've got you a new boiler (I asume) at no cost to yourself......0 -
AIUI green deal means you have to have the property assessed as a whole and accept all the recommendations, you can't pick and choose what you want.
The contractors are from a panel.
