Taking places like stations and pubs where it will be left overnight.
And another car - DH takes that to work when he has to go away. And a bike!
No more cars!!! :rotfl:
In all seriousness, I love each of our cars - they are all perfect for different uses. Had each since new, they've all been loved and cared for. I'm not buying a !!!!py car just because some kids can't be careful playing football.
Park the banger rather than the posh car in the space that the footballs are most likely to hit, then?
Seriously though, if your on street parking is ropey, you've got a nice car and you've got a garage, get the nice car in the garage asap and use the banger as the jump in and go runaround. Three cars and a double garage gives you a lot of options car-wise tbh, it's not as if you don't have a choice as to where to park the posh car once you get the garage cleared. I can't imagine the neighbours are that pleased as to three cars parked along your front kerb after all rather than two of them in the garage but they probably haven't said anything for the sake of good relations with the neighbours. It seems a bit of a shame if the kids have to give up their football when you've actually got a solution to the problem within your own hands tbh.Val.0 -

3 cars parked along the kerb? Eh?
The bike is on one side of the garage, along with all the other stuff people keep in garages. Got it shelved all down one side and across to the middle. Other side usually completely empty except for the car.
In front of the garage is a double drive. So other 2 cars would usually be there. At the moment the sports car and the 4x4 are on the drive, and the banger is behind the sports car (anti theft). Because of the layout of the street, the banger is in nobody's way and most of the neighbours can't even see it. The banger has been hit several times by the ball, but as its a banger I'm not so bothered.
The banger has blown seals so its wet inside and mouldy, a perforated engine head unit, the engine management light is on and there are mushrooms in the boot. Ergo I am not taking DD out in it, and I'm definitely not giving DD's friends a lift in it!!!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
A sports car, a 4x4, a motorbike and an old banger.
For 2 adults and one toddler?
Have you ever heard the expression 'first world problem' OP?0 -

Jealous much?! :rotfl:
As I said, the cars were bought new and are looked after until they die. The sports car is 7 years old. The 4x4 was bought once DD came along because we live on the side of a hill and winters are getting worse. So that one is 2 years old. The bike is 14 years old and the banger is 12 years old.
All were discounted :mse:, paid for in full, were worked hard for, are fully taxed, insured and MOTed. In my family we don't get rid of perfectly good cars without reason. It's only recently that my dad has been forced to scrap my sister's old 22 year old pug 206. He has another car as well, as does my mum, they have no off street parking and haven't even lived in this country in the last few years. (You can be really shocked by that if you like.)
We bought the house with the garage before buying the sports car. We've never owned more cars than we have off street parking for. We are not selfish neighbours (many of our neighbours have 2/3/4 cars and just a single drive, so their cars, vans and even full on RVs are here, there and everywhere).
Now, !!!!!! will you.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Yes, I've already said that I was a member some time back but lost/forgot my password, so I re-joined. Hence "notanewuser".
Are we done now? I'd quite like to go to bed.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
