If you're pregnant and want to be MSE I'd wait till your milk has come in before getting measured for nursing bras. I got measured for nursing bras at 39 weeks pregnant and they were too small after my milk came in
Then had to buy more.
I got mine from M&S. I don't know where is best, but I like t-shirt padded bras and they do those in nursing bras at M&S.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
My favourite ones have come from Mothercare, as I like moulded cups (a bit of protection from the battering they would otherwise get from toddlers etc when they are at their most tender!).
But I agree with Gizmodo, don't buy many, if any at all, sized ones until your milk has come in - you can get soft, crop-top style ones that are great for night-time, and also perfect for stopping the gap. You will spend a lot of the first weeks with your boobs out anyway, if my kids are anything to go by, they are so tiny, and can only take a little milk at a time, so little and often is how it goes...0 -
Mothercare measuring service is beyond crap!!! Their sizes are also completely different to every other company on the planet!
Debenhams measuring service is free and accurate.. basically though they measure the under boob circumference and guess the cup size. They need to fit smoothly and be level around the ribs and not ride up when you lift your arms.
M&S bras you need shoulders like a quarterback to wear without the straps slipping off your shoulders.
I recommended Debenhams measuring service to my daughter, she was measured, bought 1 bra and ordered others online from figleaves.
I like the hot milk ones and I have a couple of panache ones which fit nicely.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Its really just guess-work what your size will be beforehand. When pregnant your rib cage has probably expanded which will contract back but your cup size will increase.
Buy a couple of different sizes from a store that you can easily do returns (keep the tags on) and as others have suggested go for the crop tops with elastic bra bands as these are comfy and easy to wear.
Then when you are up and about again and needing something more fitting I would suggest Debenhams, or better still Bravissimo or Rigby & Peller for really good nursing bras.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Hi ,
A great maternity nursing bra is from Xpanda bra. you can buy online at their website and they have great measuring tips and guides. I bought from them just 2 weeks ago and they sent me a 15% discount code MAYXPAND13 which I have used but they sent the same to some of my friends also .you just add the code in the redeem voucher box at the very end of checkout .As well as the 15% off which is worth £3.75 you get FREE UK DELIVERY. great bra and comfort and perfect fit if you get your measurements right.Worth checking out .Just check out Xpanda Bra in google and you will come across their website.
Hope this helps:j0 -
I had good service at Mothercare. As I have large back but small cup size they were the only ones I could find. I also got some of the crop top style ones. I got twin packs of both in sale, also if you sign up to their parenting club you get 10% off too.ITV Winners Club Member (106)
