Hi People
I am looking at getting a speed camera detector but am getting very confused with what is what. If i give you what i think i need can you guys give me some suggestions on the ones you would say are the best.
I need
Laser detection so that if there is a mobile trap it picks it up.
The same but for Gatso's etc, so it can tell me if its active.
Rechargable battery so i dont have to have it plugged in all the time.
As far as cost i don't really have a budget.
Thank you

The use of laser or radar detectors is now illegal. The only thing that's legal now are GPS based systems.0 -

Millionaire, you could be right, I thought they were being banned, but maybe that's not happened yet.
Edit:- They anticipate the ban on detectors will be introduced later in the year. See http://www.roadangel.co.uk/press/index.html but products which rely purely on GPS+database will remain legal.0 -
I've just bought the Talex lite, and i'm very impressed with it.
It won Auto express for best detector 2 years running

They retail for £89 but you can find them cheaper on line about £65

I noticed last week that Aldi was selling them by the till for £59
It comes with the database installed but to keep it upto date you can subscribe for updates0 -
GPS is the first requirement.
Gatso radar detectors are pretty much useless.
Laser detection might help, but too late, you're better of using observation.
Laser jammers do exist.
I don't use any of the above BTW.Happy chappy0 -
Here's an idea, don't drive over the speed limit
and what you save on the cost of the detector
you can then spend on booze, fags and loose women

I'm shocked , almost 2 and a half hours til someone replied with don't speed
I have the Talex lite too, bought it a while back on the strength of the good reviews , I've not used anything else to compare it to but I'm very happy with it.0 -

I agree, just dont speed, if you buy a detector and it doesnt pick up a camera and you get flashed youd then have to pay the fine, id rather just keep a more constant eye on the speed,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
