Landlord for sale boards

If a landlord is selling a property whilst you are a tenant and you have requested that the agent gives you 24 hours' notice of any access to the property, is the landlord also required to give notice for things such as putting a "For Sale" sign up if they're entering the front garden to do so?

I suppose the strict legal answer is yes, if they enter the property (which includes front/back gardens etc) they should ask permission.
But
a) making an issue of this seems petty and
b) if they fail to ask, your only legal recourse is to make an application to a court to order the LL to desist (ie remove the board). This will take time, cost money, and not be guaranteed to succeed.
Now - if the LL is entering to building itself ie with estate agents, surveyors, potemtial buyers) that seems to me a different ballgame entirely.0 -

Why on earth would you make an issue out of this?0 -
perhaps its been put up badly and might fall on someones head , i recall someone else stressing over that very problem on here recently...Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

An agent selling a house in Lavenham told me he'd had strong objections from a vendor because the Estate Agency sign didn't match the house's colour scheme, and could he do anything about it....
You can always make trouble from anything if you want to...0 -
I don't understand why the LL wouldn't at least let the tenant know - surely finding someone drilling into the side of the house when you've no warning that it wasn't going to happen is unpleasant at least, and how do you know they're supposed to be doing it?0

Where did they mention anyone drilling into their house?0 -
"put up badly may fall down"; "drilling into side of house"; "colour scheme"!
The OP gives no information of motive or background for his question so speculation is pointless....0 -
Sounds like the OP wants to make things as difficult as possible for the LL.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

How many of us homeowners with houses on the market know exactly when the Estate Agent's subcontracted contractor will turn up with a signboard?0

Exactly. I don't think I've ever even had them knock on the door. They just turn up and stick it in the ground. Then you come out later and go, "When did that appear?"0
