            Morning
Harri-Bear have you got the kindle app? There are tonnes of books on there that are either free or less than a quid -which is what you will pay at a charity shop or boot fair?
I've got a problem with petrol too Karen, mainly because my (stupid) DH wants to keep our car which is a 2.5l petrol engine () and therefore we can usually get to te$co 4x a month, a few trips to the zoo and maybe one trip to town all for the princely sum of £200 (o.k slight exaggeration, but not much) (o.k slight exaggeration, but not much)

Hey folks! Hope you are all well. Hiya Julie67 and welcome, congrats on the soon to be arriving Grandchild - exciting times!
We seem to be a lot of wannabe savers on this thread, although I seem to be more of a talker than a saver at the moment.:)
NSD today - only because I am too lazy to go out on my lunchbreak.
Hi DFW, I have got a Kobo, but to be honest I don't really use it very much. I like the 'feel' of reading a 'real' book (sounds a bit saucy, but can't really think of another way of wording it!) Have progressed from Stieg Larrsen to Michael Connelly. Oh, I do so love a good murder or two . .
Not much to report today. Long, long, long day at work. It seemed to go on forever. Planning finished and all ready for tomorrow.
 2 days till payday!
 Heating still off

Speaking of books, when I last saw my fab MIL (and bearing in mind that she is a 'very' Christian woman) I was somewhat surprised when she recommended '50 Shades of Grey', as a possible future read. It turns out she had no clue as to what the book was about, but someone had offered to lend it to her. I suggested that it probably 'wouldn't be her cup of tea' and Hubby further enlightened her as to its contents. To say she blushed is an understatement!:DLoan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

            One more sleep till payday!
Another long day at work, but kids are now fast asleep so all is good.
Started my diet yesterday, basically calorie counting and so far so good. (I might not know where my money goes, but I can tell you the calories in a Jaffa cake! ) I am being quite extreme with the calorie limitations this week, as I really need to kick-start my weight loss. I will be a little less hard on myself next week. ) I am being quite extreme with the calorie limitations this week, as I really need to kick-start my weight loss. Spent £8.37 today, but as it's for work I will be able to claim it back. This time, I must remember to keep the receipt . Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327 . Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

do you use the app called my fitness pal for calorie counting? I used it for a few months and lost quite a bit of weight on it it's really good! My laptop crashed however and I had a rubbish phone that didn't have apps so haven't used it for a while! I should get back to it it's really enlightening as to how many calorie are in things  it's really good! Hiya DFW321.This is going to sound bizarre but although I know basically what apps are, I've never used them (philistine, I know!).
My phone doesn't have the internet - it's a very basic PAYG model but have checked out the My Fitness Pal website and can see that it will come in very handy. Thanks for that. Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327 Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

            Hello Harri-bear
Just checking in to say hello and how are you? Hoping that since it has now been payday you might be able to stick a bit more into your savings this month! Hoping that since it has now been payday you might be able to stick a bit more into your savings this month!
I still need to stop spending like a loon & get my bum into gear. I was planning on doing my shopping online through tesco instead of asda this year, but as I sent my mum to the shops today for a bar of chocolate for my nephew & she came back and had paid £3.35 in tesco for something that I bought for £1.50 in asda, I am not so sure the clubcard points are worth it!
I'm off to fiddle further with my finances
Hope to see you posting good news soon!

Hey Lilt, hope you are well.:)
I now have £26 of clubcard vouchers which I'm going to use to visit the Eden project when we go to Devon in the summer. This is a good deal to us, but I must admit I don't always find Mr T's the cheapest, far too complicated for me to work out which is the best value . .
Had a funny old week, this week. Got paid, so that's good but my Student Loan is more than I thought it would be at £113 instead of £78 . Never mind, should be able to pay it off quicker. . Never mind, should be able to pay it off quicker.
I also got a very quick response from National Savings for my old passbook and have had £105.00 credited to my account (it had a £78 balance but hadn't been used for over 10 years!).:)
Had a wobble yesterday and thought about spending this money on National Trust membership (there's some good deals on at the moment), but have decided to think about this some more.
Some not so good news is that hubby has been signed off work for 2 weeks with stress and I am worried about him. We have had a few minor instances of this in the past but he has always managed to pull himself out of it quite quickly. As usual I am overcompensating, by trying to be extra funny, extra nice and extra understanding, which is very tiring.
I also keep having to check with him that it's not us (me and the girls) that are the problem, which he assures me it's not. I'm feeling that things are out of balance at the moment and I don't like it!:(
DD2 spent the night in bed with me last night and has just got up. She gets terrible growing pains in her legs and me and hubby were up to her several times in the night. She seems ok now and is wandering round saying her new catchphrase, 'Shut your mighty jaws!' Not sure where she has got this from, but she seems to like it rather a lot.Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

Sorry to hear about your husband Hari-Bear I hope he's feeling better soon, I know its very upsetting/stressful for you too, my son suffers from stress/anxiety, he is 15, started when he was 9 but fortunately this past year he hasnt been too bad so Im hoping it wont be too bad in his adult life.
On the upside, good news about the £105, I could do with that right now, our two sheds are rotten so hubby is taking them down but replacing them is going to be expensive.***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0
