Hi all.
A friend who isn't well versed in the internet uses skype for contact with friends she's met on the net.
A particular person in the US is getting over familiar which she is a bit concerned about.
Is Skype safe for talking on or does it reveal her ip and her location?
Can she change or block the ip address so it doesnt show in future?
Thanks from me and her.
W.

Skype uses usernames to so if she no longer wants to talk to this person then she can block and remove their skype name and to the other person it will look like she if offline. (right click on the contact and select 'Block')
there shouldn't really be any reason to mind about IP addresses, most home IP addresses are dynamic so it will change every so often, but again skype uses a username system so it's the username you want to block.0 -
If you want you can change your IP Address manually to be safe while communicating to your friends. If you don't like the person you can remove him/her to your contact so that the information to your profile don't show .
I hope it can help Thank you.

Skype can reveal what they post on their profile.
They can use a proxy to hide their IP.
If they don't like someone, then they can block that someone.0
