Come on , you might like to stir things up but you ar enot naive. Profit is not the difference between raw purchase price and gross sale price
Gross profit of £10, net proft of £6?
Genuinely holding stock in the UK should bring in the punters."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

You'd previously said Chinese electronics never have faults and are never possibly dangerous..0 -
There are obvious issues with the copyright of the item. Apple are quite protective. People get away with selling stuff like this, but it isn't a great business model.Brooker_Dave wrote: »Why would it be illegal to import one of these??.0 -

*all* the cheap, and much of the not so cheap, consumer electronics are made in china.
I think OP would be better off importing and selling cheepo Chinese stuff to start with before investing big money."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

If you're importing as a business, I would assume importing of more than one at a time, so you should be paying taxes.Brooker_Dave wrote: »Is there any import duty on something that costs £12?
Almost £6 profit on a £23 sale is not to be sniffed at.
Your £23 item includes postage, which seller would be paying for.
Packaging. Listing fees, Ebay and Paypal fees. That's without other business costs. They look to have a high return rate too, so an extra expense.
Feel free to pitch it on the next series of Dragon's Den:rotfl:.0 -

Argos seem to get away with it?

If you bring in more than one the cost per unit will be less and therefore cover any taxes.

My apologies, I've only got 25 years experience in this business, I bow to your knowledge.Brooker_Dave wrote: »If you bring in more than one the cost per unit will be less and therefore cover any taxes.
HTH.
VAT is at 20%.. Import duties on top of that. Courier fees on top of that. Looking at at least a third more. How many of these are you suggesting be bought? Are you storing and insuring them? Can you guarantee they hold that price?
Or is some Chinese seller already listing them on Ebay at £16.77

If chinaman can afford to sell one of them for £12 shipped, I'm sure if you brought them in volume they'd be much cheaper than £12.
See quantity discounts."Love you Dave Brooker! x"
