You can only fund/subscribe to one ISA per year.

However you could fund an ISA, then transfer it (in full) and then fund the now transferred ISA once complete.

I would pay whatever you can afford into your Nationwide Online ISA 3 which is paying 3.10% until September for this tax year and then look around for an easy access cash ISA which will allow transfers in with a good rate and do what a lot of us on this forum have done. Don't put in new money with the new isa but arrange for them to transfer £100 from your Nationwide's past years isas then in September ask them to transfer all of your Nationwide ISA unless Nationwide come up with a better rate.

Since Nationwide ISAs all count as one big ISA, you can do that. I take it the point of opening the Web ISA 3 now is to lock it in before it goes away, in case there's nothing better in September.

In that case, it looks like you could open it with £1000, then just leave £1 in to keep it open, and move £999 to the Online Saver 3.

No, they're not attached to anyone else.
