Three Mobile Help

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help i am getting really slow internet speeds on my note 2 and there is no fault with the mast or anything. The only thing i can think of is that i have been throttled for downloading too much as last month i d/l about 3gb but i am on the one plan with all you can eat data which i thought had no limits.

I used to get speeds on d/l between 3 and 8mbs u/l was around 1mbs but now i am getting at all times d/l 0.04mbs and 0.8mbs and u/l 1mb.

Can three throttle me with no warning and also being on the all you can eat data plan.
Three support on twitter claim they do not throttle but reading other threads around the net would indicate they do and help would be appreciated as my note 2 is now useless for anything other than texting and calls. And i need the net on my phone

Thanks in advance

Three don't throttle anymore. I use over 80GB and have never faced throttling apart from last year when they were throttling for a trial period.

Are you sure it's not a local issue? Have you tried any other sims or a friends phone?

Also if it's throttling then before 12pm you should be getting normal speeds.

Local conditions will dynamically dictate what speed you will get - and you'll not be throttled (in the sense you mean, as punitive payback). Perhaps someone is doing what you did last time round, and you are suffering as a consequence? :)
  • My wifes and mother in laws phone both get high speeds and i have tried everything even factory restored my phone all to no avail

Have you tried your sim card in their phone?

Also did you test the speed between 12am and 12pm. As that is the time when throttling did not apply before last time.
  • Hi

I cant try my sim in there phones as i have a micro sim and theirs is a standard size sim

Highly unlikely that you're being throttled, I use a lot more than you and not had an issue.

Hmm that's very weird. Because Three did say they'd stopped throttling last year sometime. Even i can confirm this because i'm a very heavy user. 3GB is a normal day to me yet i haven't had any of this. esp since Three never really throttle people on the one plan even then. Before it was just people on PAYG/other plans.

Might be worth ringing up their technical support team and just asking them about being throttled and whether they are still doing it.
