Here it is.
As usual, it's all a bit tedious with articles congratulating various firms and Councils for somehow making people's lives better because they enforce parking charges.
Some old rubbish about who has a stand at Parkex and the dross they will be displaying to try to make more money, as if anyone cares.
And there's an hilarious advert we've seen before on the inside back page, from UKPC which makes it look like the employee is nicking some old biddies' shopping from their car boot (he wouldn't be helping them of course because NO PPC does that).
But there are some interesting contact details on page 13, namely paula.wittig@centuryfilmsltd.com
That article on page 13, 'Calling all wannabe Film Stars' is an interesting piece among all the dirge. 'Parking Mad' are working on another programme but focussing on the challenges of 'enforcing parking rules'. It says they are after some input from the Parking 'Profession' LOL!
But...by way of balance and as a strike against the PPCs, how about we give Paula Wittig some background information about certain PPCs and their recent DVLA bans, name changes, ICO breaches, POPLA losses, hollow threats of Court, the worst debt collector threatograms - stand up CPP and PS&P in University car parks, pretending you are going to make a personal visit like some bailiff!
And of course the programme will need to have some background knowledge on the way that the PPCs rely on the IRRELEVANT COUNCIL ONLY Blue Badge scheme and then they use it as an excuse to pick on people whose badge has slipped down even though a slipped badge doesn't take away the disability nor their legal right to park there unharassed. PPCs think that people can only park there if they have the 'right indicator of disability', the right way up, in date, etc. But in fact ANY indicator of a disability that causes a need to use such a bay should be allowed or it's pure discrimination and profiteering. A disabled tax disc, a note on the dashboard to explain the disability need, sight of a clearly disabled person, obvious signs of adaptation, a motability car - ANY of those should legally be enough for the PPC to leave the car alone or risk being sued.
After all, they don't require a certain make of child car seat to allow a car to be in a Parent and Child bay...therefore by comparison, it's discrimination against the disabled to ignore perfectly legitimate information about the disability need. I would actually applaud the first PPC or Supermarket to realise this!
And what about the horrendously flawed 'Baywatch scheme' mounted on a completely wrong premise about Blue Badges in private car parks, and the DMUK 'close involvement' with certain PPCs would be a very good one for Parking Mad to check out...
And the BBC article from 2010, she might like to peruse that, seeing as NO Supermarket and NO PPC has ever bothered to sort out this illegality, especially now there are ANPR spy cameras imposing arbitrary time limits with no thought as to whether the person getting the fake PCN is disabled or otherwise covered by the Equality Act 2010:

It would be great if some calm, well-worded emails could fly in to Paula from various posters; links to these threads on MSE and pepipoo would be good too as long as everyone makes a clear and lucid point for her to 'investigate'.

How about my signature ?
All parking companies are SCAMMERS !
Sums it up really lol though I will drop her an email with explanation
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

More so than usual, I'm afraid. Informed sources elsewhere have reported that the hilarious Parking Mad article commissioned by BPA was pulled at the last minute leaving an huge gap in the mag and delaying publication.Coupon-mad wrote: »...As usual, it's all a bit tedious...
More to come following Perkex 2013.

C'mon Gyles Brandreth, it's not too late!0 -
They could also run a feature about Anjna Patel the president of the BPA who, for some reason, has a second identity, namely Kira Fleck. As this Nutsville article details:-

It makes interesting reading.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
What next? PPC trade association BPA pleads for members to complete this survey.
britishparking.co.uk/News/new-survey-on-parking-what-does-parking-mean-to-you
The survey asks questions about car parking and what it means to groups of individuals including drivers, non-drivers, business owners, the parking industry and local authorities. It is conducted on behalf of Loughborough University and aims to help understand more about car parking, which is currently considered an under researched area of transport.
Anyone got 10 minutes to spare?
Fill your boots.

Here is the link to Loughborough University where you can take the survey. It would be nice if everyone with a strong opinion regarding Private Parking Companies were to register their views. https://www.survey.lboro.ac.uk/carparking

Will do! Links to this site and pepipoo would open their eyes to the scam industry!
The BPA mouthpiece says:
''Car parking is an issue which affects most people in their day to day lives. Therefore it is important for those who are involved in making the decisions about car parking policy to understand more about what it means to all those affected by it and how things could potentially be improved.
Your individual participation will contribute to building a reliable and solid database of representative attitudes and opinions about how car parking is valued by those affected by it.''
http://www.britishparking.co.uk/News/new-survey-on-parking-what-does-parking-mean-to-you
I think we can indeed add some useful opinions there. Keep it factual and non-ranty, with links and examples of the utter scam carried out by these firms.
Also - important - don't call them 'PPCs' because the Uni researchers aren't going to know what our acronym means and also the survey is about any aspect of parking (including Councils). So make it clear what you are replying about, without the use of the 'PPCs' acronym.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The imaginatively named Sarah Juggins reckons that the BPA and the NoToMob have a lot in common! :rotfl:
Couldn't make it up could you?

As usual it's tedious but p37 to 39 is more interesting as NoToMob had a certain edited) voice. With a load of flannel from Kelvin in response.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
